This was fun! Definitely a different approach to bullet hell -i liked it! Having to get the tiles in order was fun. Some things needed polished up -like a warning when the bees spawn so they don't instantly spawn on top of the player -but it's understandable especially considering the short amount of time to jam! Awesome work!! :D
I'm glad you found it fun to play, many thanks.
I'm not the biggest fan of games like these. It's one of those games where you die so often that you stop trying and just end up brute forcing your way to victory. Not really my idea of fun.
I think my biggest problem is that I don't know where the hit boxes begin and end. When I am playing I'm trying to pay attention to where my feet are at but I just keep getting hit. The window for not getting hit feels very narrow a lot of the time.
It's a shame because the game is very juicy and very satisfying to look and hear at. Maybe it is the best out of every game in the jam. Although I do think the audio is glitched because the boulder sound keeps looping and looping again.
The theme is actually pretty clever and I don't think has been done before, so I have to give it credit for that.
Yup there was a problem with the sound of the rock as it was playing in a continuous loop, thanks for warning, I have already solved it. The character hitboxes have been revised and should work fine, the area is inside the sprite, it shouldn't be hit from the outside. Thank you very much for the feedback.
Didn't have the patience to try and beat it.
The death animations are easily the #1 reason to play this.
Most fun game to lose so far!
I thought it was a good way to dampen the anger! Thanks for feedback
Very masochistic and frustrating but I managed to beat it. Pretty charming and varied art, like... the one sprite where you're cut in half and your leg is off in very graphic detail, very nice. It was fun.
Many thanks
Great game! It is only too difficult in my opinion.
Thanks for playing
Cool concept and execution. We loved that thereβs a unique animation for each type of death! The gameplay was also quite fun, and the JAM theme was incorporated well. Overall great job!
Many thanks.
I love the art and the gameplay, but it is pretty difficult.
Thanks for playing
Nice graphics and sound, but a bit too much complicated. Some objects seem too sensitive, while others are not sensitive enough. The randomness of some projects needs to be better controlled. But nice work with the statues and environment, really like them!
Thanks for playing and the feedback.
Good gameplay and I like the sprites. What I do think this could have used is lighting, in my opinion it looks a bit static with uniform lightning. Sounds are great. Nice work
Thanks for playing and feedback.
Great work on the theme! And the death animations are highly amusing, gj.
Many thanks!
the game is good, but the first level is a lot hard for me, i don't know why, but i keep running straight to the arrows every time, when i finally got to the second level and discovered that i had to go all the way back, i was so frustrated, maybe with a difficulty select menu the game would be perfect for me.
I guess it's a matter of practice, anyway the current version of the game does not restart from the first room but you reappear in the last room where you died.
Thanks for playing!
That was good, maybe a little too hard but that's ok. Graphics were good, but the only problem for me is that the glyphs on the door are too small and hard to see. Good game anyways!
Thanks for playing!
Due to the comments received I made some changes, I have reviewed and adjusted the hitboxes of the player and the enemies.
The death system has been changed, now when entering a new room there will be a checkpoint, so when player die they can restart from the current room.
I hope these changes help you better enjoy the game experience, thank you all.
Perhaps too difficult, but everything else was pretty good, and not bad incorporation of the theme.
Thanks for playing
I would recommend reducing the hitbox of the enemies. Adding a checkpoint system would also go a long way! Great job!
I'm going to check those hitboxes, thanks for playing.
Looks really nice! Like others commented, it's kinda difficult. Good cohesive theme!
Thanks for playing!
This definitely fits the theme and the visuals and sound was on point.
However I'd say it was way more difficult than it needed to be due to the large hitbox around the player. Taking just the slightest of shortcuts lead to your death. Great job!
I'm going to check the player's hitbox to make sure it's correct, thanks for playing and for the feedback.
I believe it's correct but i would suggest using a circlecollider instead of box coll. If that's bot what youre already doin ofc ^^
Love the theme, the visuals, the sound all are super great!
You must, must make it so it saves my progress. Redoing the first floor is super punishing.
Also I might have said some not nice thinks about your mothers the first time I stepped on one of those cracked tiles :)
I absolutely adore the lost temple vibes, that's really great.
Many thanks, I am taking into consideration the comments about the permadeath and I plan to make some changes, thanks for playing.
Damn, this is so much harder than it looks. I'm not sure though if that's because of the general puzzle difficulty or the movement that you really have to get used to. The theme integration feels a little rushed in my opinion and I think some audio-tuning could've done wonders. I like the idea, but I think this could have been a much better game if you doubled down on the puzzle aspects and ignored the theme.
Now, this comment sounds pretty negative, but overall I dont think your game is bad, just a little bit shifted in the wrong direction I suppose.
Decisions are made without being completely convinced if they will work, so I do not consider your comment to be negative if not quite the opposite, an evaluation made constructively helps a lot, thanks for playing and for your feedback.
Loved the drawings, sound design was also really good! Really Hard to get to open the door without dying cause of the traps XD well done
Thanks for playing
