Very nice entry! Great puzzle platformer! I liked your character walk cycle, very smooth. The player controls felt pretty good.

I'd love to get your thoughts and rating on my game. We created a platform as well.

Developer

Thank you very much!

I checked yours out as well, my comments are on the game page. But holy moley, that is a GREAT game. Your team should be very proud!

The art and design of the game are wonderful!

Thank you very much!

I loved your game, your art and animation is very wonderful and the music makes the game more fun the flag concept is great.

I really enjoyed it :)

Developer

Thank you very much!

This was awesome! The graphics and music were spot on. Had a lot of fun playing it too. I got stuck the first time in the level where you have to jump on the ball because I accidentally pushed it all the way to the right and then had no way of pulling it back or moving it in any way.

Good game on the whole!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, definitely going to add a fix for the balls (and sometimes boxes) getting stuck in corners after the jam is over.

I played and rated yours as well! Unexpectedly educational game, I like it.

The graphics were really good, so the SFX and the music, I liked the  puzzles, the atmosphere is really nice and it fits the theme realy well, great job!

Loved the cartoony graphics and the puzzles are well thought... Good job!

Rated - Wow this is one my my favorites!  Really great progression and puzzles.  The polish is so good too, like the moving lights or animated environmental details.  Superb!  My only suggestion would be to add some squish and stretch animation to the cute bear character.  Would make him feel even more huggable!  Really great job!  Please check out my entry when you have time ~ good day!

Developer

Thank you, and thanks for the feedback too! There are definitely a few little things like that I'd like to add after the jam.

I really enjoyed yours as well! More commentary on the actual page. :)

Played and rated! I really liked your game!

Don't forget to rate my game please: https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/476599

Thank you! I rated yours as well. That was an unexpected twist... or, I guess, an "expected" one, haha. Congratulations to you or whomever on your team became the new father!

Loved the art & had fun playing. Great entry!

Very nice entry. At first I got stuck at the ball on the corner bug but other than that this is a nice game

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, I definitely will be incorporating a fix for that after the jam. :) Glad you enjoyed the game otherwise!

I rated yours too - nice idea! Heh, I died enough that my circle got quite big. I wish I had more time to play through it, but I've put it on my list of games to go back to after the jam. I'm determined to get further!

Great game!

Loved the sounds and the art style.

Maybe restart with a button like R would be better (ESC just closed the full screen for me and then it works)

Developer

Thank you! And that's a great point, I didn't think about ESC being used for exiting fullscreen too. I'll make an adjustment after the jam is over.

I played and rated yours as well! Love the art style - especially the colors and ambient fog. The music was nice too and fit your project well!

Submitted

Like your idea,

Levels are well designed, no jump is to hard or to easy and the music is fitting. A quick restard button would be great.

Overall nice submission.

Developer

Thank you! There's a restart in the pause menu (ESC), though there's an occasional bug with it right now that I'll be fixing after the jam. :)

I played and rated yours as well! Cute graphics, good use of sound, and I liked the ending! It reminded me a little bit of Moirai, if you've ever played that one?

Submitted

Thanks for playing my game through.

I've seen Moirai a few Months before the jam, so it was actually a inspiration for me, but I also generally like the Idea of cycles being in a games story, like in on of my favorite games and also inspiration, darksouls. So I wanted some kind of those repeating story elements in my game, and I came up with the story.

Submitted

Definitely one of my favorites so far!  The art and sound are good/great, and it's one of the best games in terms of following the theme!  There are a few quirks that let the player get stuck with no way to restart.  (Ummm.  I just realized I didn't try pressing ESC.  Maybe you can restart without reloading the browser.)  Anyway, great game!!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! And yep, you can use ESC to pause and reset, but there's an occasional bug that causes some items not to reset properly. I'll be fixing it after the jam. Checked out and rated yours as well! I briefly thought about a game involving a lyre when I was brainstorming for this, but the idea never went anywhere. I like the idea of using the lyre to reveal things. The music and graphics were excellent too.

A very cool puzzle game, keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you! I played and rated yours too, chaos is a great description! That's an impressive amount of work (especially the graphics) considering the jam's time limit. I kept finding all the fun, small ways you incorporated the theme. But mostly I was just panicking and spamming the attack button, lol!

Submitted (1 edit)

Haha! It was chaotic for sure! :P Im glad that you enjoyed it! :D

Love the game, at first I was a little bit confuse in where I have to go, Also the jump feels a little bit unresponsive, but overall this game is great! Really loved the distortion of the music by changing the level. Also in the end when the game indicates you to drop and then the change of words happen, my jaw just drops.  The game itself looks very polish, love the fun and happy world that at first give to you and later it transitions in to this weird, creepy environment love it! :D

Developer

Thank you very much, I appreciate the feedback too! I'm thinking to add a contextual hint system after the jam is done. I'm glad you liked the effect on the words, it was fun figuring out how to make that work!

Submitted

The art of your game is very polish, I like the contrast with the cuteness and the monters in your universe. There is definitelly a big potential with this.

I wish there was a bit more indication on what the player have to do. I got stuck after putting the box in the vortex. Because of the theme of the jam, a lot of people created "unfair" games by putting random trap here and there. Creating unbalance game and sacrificing player's pleasure.
It's too bad, because I was quite enjoying your game, until I got frustrated because I could'nt finish ^^"

The control feel a bit stiff, when jumping the bear feel pretty heavy

Overhall great art, audio, and great universe, congrats !

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback! I may implement a contextual hint system when the jam is done. In the meantime, if you're curious, I created a walkthrough video on YouTube with hints and solutions for each part.

I checked yours out and rated it too! I enjoyed the mechanic of switching the lights on and off (and even found that last sneaky cookie!) The characters are quite cute. About the only issue I ran into was if I died while holding D or A, the character would still be running and I'd immediately die again. Otherwise, the controls felt pretty crisp. Needs sound, but I saw you were planning to add that later. Great work!

Submitted

Loved the sounds, great job!  (there was no escape for me)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I put up a walkthrough on YouTube if you're curious how it ends. :)

I checked out and rated yours as well! I like the art style. It's a little dark, but I read your notes about the state of the game and that you're planning to keep working on it, I hope you do! It's a neat idea.

Submitted

WOW! This is by far one of the best platformers I've seen so far (including my own), and you did a great job! The puzzles were challenging, the art was amazing, and the music was great. My only criticism is the problems with restarting, but it wouldn't be a Game Jam game without bugs, would it? ;) Overall, this is an awesome game and I'd love to see it expanded!

Developer(+1)

I am definitely looking forward to taking some time to do bug fixes and polishing the game after the jam is over with! I checked yours out and rated it as well, it's fun! Loved the voice acting.

Submitted

Yay! I'm glad you liked it!

A very funny and scary game. Both the music and the visual style is really good. Love the story and weird puzzles. And most important for me, you have made some working controls for a platform game. Overall a really good jam game. Well done.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I checked yours out as well, the narration was funny and I thought what you actually find in the rooms - or don't find! - was a nice way to handle the limited time we had for the jam. Fun!
