Definitely one of the ones that deserve the win this time hands down
Rated - Some really juicy and awesome details throughout this game! I really liked it, I will play it some more to find the endings after a rate some other entries~ Great job! Please check out my entry if you have time (can rate from video if you like)
Great storytelling, you nailed this theme by making a quite unique mood for a platformer. I like how cute and sad this game is at the same time.
Great minimal graphics and music.
Good job !
Really fun game, the story is super touching XD I love the small character. I also got a lot of undertale vibes out of this game, especially the text. Really good job of creating a flavor of it <3
This game is very well made and polished for a jam game! I only got the neutral ending but unfortunately could not afford to aim for the super ego ending because of one problem: I have a 5:4 screen, and it would seem like your levels dont fit that format? A part of them is always cut out on the sides and that makes it very annoying to find exits and yellow thingies that are off on the sides. It's a bug I was willing to deal with for the neutral ending though because all other aspects of the game were great! The music is perfect, the pace stressful but fun, the ending hilarious... I love it all.
The aspect ratio problem is something I discovered on the very last day, and looked really hard for a good answer for it...
I opted to just allow support for only 16:9 resolutions. But I see that didn't work too well >_< My apologies!
I'm glad you could still enjoy the game for what it is! Thanks so much for the kind comment! :)
This game is awesome! One of my favourites from the jam. The music and sounds work so well together.
I only got one ending so far. I really like all the special effects and the way things animate from moving from one screen to another. I really like how there's different channels in the music that reacts dynamically to mechanics. I like the pacing of levels and I like the really minimal artstyle too.
I do think that there should be a way to exit the game at the end. I got confused and stuck at the Dissonance screen. Gameplay and movement wise it's a bit too simple but I do like that it doesn't overstay its welcome. I'd probably make your movement speed faster in this current iteration. I'd probably also allow you to skip to the end of dialogue if possible. I also am not quite sure what the yellow orbs do other than as an optional objective but it was fun to collect them.
I feel pretty inspired by your game's aesthetic and it does make me want to use the effects and dynamic music you've done in my own way in my own games. I enjoyed this game and I find the dialogue and writing amusing.
The music is nice. I wrote earlier I really like how it dynamically switches. I like the particle effects when you die and collect stuff. It's simple but it fits the artstyle. The pixel art blend with the white platforms fits surprisingly well.
Thank you for a detailed review! I really appreciate it.
There should be an exit button on the title screen, If it didn't appear for you it might be a resolution issue I haven't caught on?
I absolutely agree on the gameplay front, I also think I played it too safe and should've innovated with something new to the platforming gameplay, and skippable dialogue is one thing I sadly didn't have enough time for in the game jam, otherwise I would've added that feature as well. The yellow orbs are entirely optional, however they are required for a particular ending.
It fills me with happiness to know that my work can inspire others! I hope I can keep doing this to affect even more people!
Thanks for playing my game, glad you enjoyed it. I'm going to play yours right now!
Very cool concept, will replay to get all three endings ^^
I love when someone creates something extraordinary, something that you have to give a thought before you fully understand what you played. Well, I believe that this thought is something that can really influence people, so congratulation, as this game really does that.
I really liked this one! Even though I have never played Celeste, it reminded me of that game with the player's inner-conflict being the enemy, and I loved the little character jump animation, very cute. Great game overall!
Really fun game idea, but I am super confused about the ending... how do you get the other ones? I played twice - once I collected every coin (cookie?) and once I collected none. Both times I go the neutral ending.
The other ending, admittedly, is counter-intuitive in the way you unlock it.
== SPOILER WARNING==
I'll reveal it now so
You need to die multiple time to the enemies until the text at the top becomes a red "ID", and then you need to beat the game.
The reason it is the way it is, is because it makes the most sense thematically.
Thanks for playing my game! I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to try and get the other endings! :D
