This is so creative. I swear some of you are actual wizards!
I had a lot of fun with this one so I hope you keep working on it ;)
This is so good, I think I was just playing it for around an hour, I need more harder levels lol. Seriously everything about this is great, the way the cards move around and slot into position next to each other is perfect its so satisfying. This is a jam favourite for me, great work
I'm loving the creativity in this game! Especially the small details like how the background music is a rendition of Sk8erboi, or how it's a deckbuilder with skate decks. Such an interesting concept, well done!
Excellent interpretation of the theme! I can feel that the game needs more time in the oven to add extra content and QoL features, but for a gamejam it's very solid :) I had to keep retrying until I beat every round
Thank you! You're the first person I know that beat the last round, good job!
Really fun! I had a lot of difficulty on the grinding segments, but the other segment’s QTEs I was able to do pretty consistently. Loved the graphics and chill vibes of the game. I was able to get decently far, but the score requirements ramped faster than I was able to get good wheel multipliers. I think there is probably a little bit of tweaking there that can be done, but overall this was a really solid game that I had a ton of fun with. Really great job!
Thank you! The last round is doable but very hard! Probably need a little tweaking as you said.
Looks super polished and well made however I had no idea what I was doing even after multiple attempts, took me a few goes to realise what buttons to press for the QTAs , felt like information overload.
Thank you! Yeah it definitely needs a better and interactive tutorial explaining the QTEs
Ok actually such a cool concept for a game, maybe I'm biased because I love rogue-like deck builders, but definitely save the idea this could become so cool with some more time. Did you make the music loop as well? figured I'd ask because if so I appreciate the musical reference.
Thank you!
Yes we were 2 devs on the project and my teammate made the music himself! Did you recognize Avril Lavigne - Skater Boi reference? :D
Sure did! thought I was going insane for a bit but my nostalgia has never let me forget that riff!
Really cool game concept! I liked it alot, took me a couple of rounds to understand it. But when i got the hang of it, i enjoyed it alot.
We both thought of making Balatro inspired games lol. Although I ended up branching off the ballet type and more to just a rogue like. Really interesting & polished game tho, even if it’s a little hard to understand.
I quite like this game, its simple but it does get repetitive fast for me, I'm easily able to notice the game play loop, may be a me problem from doing game dev but, i think more padding and things to do, maybe little objectives like "complete 3 skate tricks without failing" or "complete 3 tricks of the same colour on the board" just something else for you to also be doing
Otherwise its really good
This game is a *chefs kiss* of polishment and well development, too bad the gameplay exceeds my IQ but that's on me, anyway, GREAT job right here!
Thank you! :D
Like the idea! Would have liked have more guidance on the different tricks that need to be done while in certain cards (I still don't understand how to do the rails), but overall I think it's a really nice idea!
Good job!
Thank you!
The rails is the hardest QTEs but once you master it you can really score a lot of points!
Glad you gave the game a try!
I thought it was a very original and fun idea haha. I think it could be polished further, but overall it's a great job! :D
Thank you! :D
There seem to be an issue with scaling when I play on web, I'm not seeing the "Ride" button so I can't progress... I also can't see my energy and points and all... Anyway you know I can skip this?
Oh wow, thanks for the heads up. Even in full screen you don't have the button/UI? For me it's working fine with and without fullscreen so I don't know how to reproduce...
It cause into fullscreen automatically for me, I don't have the option of not having it full screen. Here's a screenshot.
I do have a wide monitor, but the problem seem to also be happening on my 16:9, not completely sure what's that about. If I resize the window, it doesn't seem like the screen is resizing problem, I just get a very big skateboard. Here's another screenshot.
Just tested and it seems to be an issue because the build is in 1920x1080 (and I managed the scaling badly in Unity)
I have no issue on my 4K 16:9 monitor but in my 1920x1080 I have the same issue
I've modified the settings so that the game is directly in the page now, with that the fullscreen button on the bottom right is working and should fix the issue (I hope for everyone)
Thanks a lot for the feedback, I totally missed this issue!
Thanks for fixing it!
Interesting concept, but the lack of WASD support and inability to view your deck holds it back a bit. If you sped it up a little it might turn into a rhythm roguelike game. Cool ideas though.
Thanks! Yes camera movements and deck view was something we wanted to add.
(Funny because I was playing your game when you've commented on ours)
A well-made skateboard game with great music and sound effects that enhance the experience. However, improving the UI responsiveness would make the gameplay feel smoother and more intuitive.
Thanks! Yes we definitely need camera movement in order to see the whole skatepark!
