No voy a criticar el hecho de que la versión de navegador funcione mal, pues la mía tampoco es una maravilla, pero no voy a darle un rating al juego, pues no tuve oportunidad de probarlo correctamente.
Está bien, completamente comprensible
Super unique spin on the prompt! Interesting and bold direction with the sound design, makes it really stand out! Very charming and easy to read graphics :D
Thank you, it means a lot! We really tried hard with this one :D
Amazing audio design and art. I have the sounds stuck in my head, I’ll be humming them through the day. :D
First off, the pixel art was really impressive, I appreciate the smear frames in the animations! And it was super cool how the whole layout of the boat was functional and still boat shaped, I know that's not a super easy thing to do!
However I did run into some pain points, so here's me trying to give you constructive pointers:
There's not really a reason to use that many decimals for the countdown, you could truncate the significant digits and make it a lot cleaner. It's a SUPER minor issue but it kind of indicates a general lack of polish for the game, if that makes sense.
The mouth sound effects were a bit muddy for gameplay, the fact that they were all mouth sounds made it hard to distinguish different audio cues.
The fishing poles were really buggy on my end and crashed my game a bunch.
A cinemachine camera would have made the camera tracking a lot smoother and more professional looking, and its not that hard to implement. Maybe an idea for your next game!
But unfortunately, my biggest issue was that I didn't find much of the gameplay to be engaging. The whole reason you're powering the ship and maintaining your sanity is to keep playing, but at no point does the gameplay turn into something truly innovative. You're just... not losing, and that's not inherently fun in my opinion.
BUT like most things, it was a lot more fun in multiplayer. I mean, the fact that you had FOUR PLAYER MULTIPLAYER is crazy in a jam game, that's so fun! I don't have a numpad but I do think that the way you supported four different control schemes was really smart, and the menu to select players was really nice too.
As for the art and SFX (my part) Thank you for the compliments on the art :D, and don't worry, mouth sound effects are off the table for now, it was just an experiment we wanted to try for this game jam :). Thank you for your critique, it is very valuable. The boat was pretty easy to make, I just drew a boat, made some rooms and then filled in the rest, so thats not the hardest thing about the art don't worry. The animations were probably the hardest. Once again, thank you for your detailed feedback, it means a lot!
So true ^-^
Timer would have been so easy to fix de-decimalize, but I never got around to doing it.
We did have a plan to have a few more rooms, and for you to be able to buy rooms for coins. Which would have increased the gameplay complexity over time. Alas ran out of time.
Fishing rod bug is web version only, which sucks, cause i dont know how to fix that >~<
The art and audio are both very charming. Gameplay is a little too simplistic for me but I like how there are lots of different elements bundled together in this game--mining the coal, avoiding the shadows, gambling, the sanity mechanic, the engine, and more. It's a shame that the fishing rods cause issues on the web version. I would have a pretty good run going, but then I would accidentally interact with a fishing rod when trying to go down the ladder and then I wouldn't be able to put it down.
We're sorry about that it is very unfortunate, a bug we couldn't iron out in the last few minutes of submissions. Glad you like the SFX and music though, means a lot to us :D
Amazing audio design I loved it, use of the theme is fantastic, one of the better uses in the jam. Graphics are nice the humour was great. Lots of really great stuff in this game. Main downside for me was just some of the gameplay. I tried playing a couple times but my game actually crashed in all but one, I lost my mind in that playthrough. Loop is nice and simple, nice control scheme and interactions with the coal, gambling, fishing and library but yea sadly just kept ending in a crash.
Hard one for me because this could very easily be one of the best games in the jam if I could play it start to finish as it ticks every box super well bugs aside.
Yeaaa, the game sadly crashes in the web version when youn try to leave the fishing rod. Still glad you enjoyed the rest of it >////<
cool game ngl, although idk if it's just me but my gameplay really just boiled down to two things: putting coal into the engine when it's bright, going to the library when it's dark, and fishing for coins when i need them. it was a fun experience though
yeah we tried to keep the gameplay loop simple because our previous game jams were too ambitious, thank you for playing!
ahh ok makes sense, and it's definitely better than my game anyway
one of the best sfx I've ever heard
thank you, that means a lot :D
Cool game, the sound design and the gambling mechanic were very fun! wUnfortunately i encountered a game breaking bug with the fishing rod.
Thannks for playing, the finshing rod bug shouldn happen in the downloaded version, just in case you would like to play unbuged >°<
I just got a PSVR2 and at first, I thought "Wow, why's this guy running around with an unplugged headset?" But that's on me. I liked the graphics and the jumping was really smooth.
Thanks for enjoying the game :3
Great game and nice graphics, liked the lighting in the night, did crash on me for some reason, might not be a game prob but no other games have crashed on me so idk.
Sowwy about the carash >/////< Web version crashes when you try to stop fishing I think, it does not happen on the downloaded version if that helps :3
Tahnk you for enjoying the game ^o^
I really enjoyed the graphics! Cool concept and excellent audio.
Thank you for the kind words!
the sound effects top notch, totally a 5/5 in humor and sound.
good job submitting this ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧
Thank you very much >////<
Cute lil' game! Didn't expect the vocal audio, it's charming. Good stuff!
Thank you! Glad I could charm you :D
Omg I love it! This is definitely one of the best games I have tried. The sounds and music were definitely adding to the experience it was amazing<33
Thank you for the kind words! I worked hard to make the SFX and music :D
I LOVED ITTT! The vibe and theme reminded me alot of Spiritfarer, which is one of my top favorite games of all time so HUGE kudos to you guys!!
(Also im looking at this game at 2 am when I dont have audio so Im VERY confused by some of these comments!! Guess I gotta just come back in he morning and listen to em fr!!)
Wow, this really means a lot to us! Thank you so much, and yeah, the thing is all the SFX are made by mouth only, so its quite the experience :)I've never heard of spiritfarer, I will check it out!
Nice game! Loved the use of theme and sounds.
Thank you so much!
Great game and interesting interpretation of the theme! The game prototype is quite addictive. Special like for the music and sounds.
It seems to me that the face of the main character at the maximum level of sanity is already crazy enough, how much more? lol
I noticed one bug: when you press S while fishing, the game crashes.
Yeah we're very sorry about that bug, it doesn't occur when you download the game though! I know you probably won't play another time but, thought I would let you know :). And thank you for the feedback, I enjoyed making the sound effects
Great take on the theme! I thought of "sanity decay" for the jam as well but couldn't find a way to go about it. Making all the game sounds with your voice was a nice touch too. Well done!
Thank you for your kind words :)
Love the sound and the concept is fun, nice!
Thank you!
