I loved the visual effects and that almost everywhere on the screen there was something to click on, it made the game a lot easier to understand.

thanks for playing and your feedback! :)

It's a game that's fun to play and out of the imagination.

But when making a screen to mimic a television screen

and staring for a long time my eyes are blurry

thank you for your feedback!

you can disable the crt effect: press ESC to open the pause menu and select "options" - there it can be disabled.

we reduced the effect now.

Fun little game! I enjoyed the main menu and changing the TV to fall asleep to whatever game is on the TV. Very cool area and a good variety of content.

My only feedback is can you add a way to toggle the horizontal lines on the screen on and off. They were seriously starting to hurt my eyes by the time I finished playing. No clue if that's just my screen resolution or what but it did become a slight issue for me.

Overall cool game!

This was a really cute and pretty game! The sprites, the after effects and the sounds/music all fit together really well to create a very cosy atmosphere :D I also loved that everything was interactable in the main menu! That attention to detail really shows the love that was put into the game I think :)

The games were great too and, as also mentioned on the game page, they were really hard! The only thing that was a bit frustrating was having to go to the menu and wait for it to become evening each time you lost (and because the games were so hard I lost quite a lot >.<). That is what it felt like for me at least :)

A second (small) point of feedback is that when I first loaded the game I was not sure what I was supposed to do. I just started randomly clickling around in the main menu, and then at a seemingly random time a game started playing. After a bit I understood I could change the game by pressing the tv, and that the game began when it became evening. I don't think this was a big problem, but there was a bit of friction there.

Otherwise amazing work on everything really, the art, sounds, games. This was really enjoyable :D Thanks a lot for making this ^_^

Developer

thanks for your detailed feedback! :)

we'll definitely think about how to add a "quick-restart"!

Very cool and I really enjoyed playing the mini games. Loved the Moiré effect :)

Developer

thanks for playing! glad you liked it! :)

Like other commenters have said, you really nailed the retro aesthetic, and even got the classic genres (and their ridiculous difficulty) down to a T.

Cat in Space is my favorite so far, though idk what to do after I get the enemy into the shield mode.

Developer

thanks for your feedback! :)

spoiler-alert:

in "a cat in outer space" you can destroy the enemy shield using the charge shot (hold down left mouse button to charge)

TO HARD. cool idea though

Developer

thanks for your feedback!

I enjoyed "A Cat Rolling High" the most. Unfortunately I never finished "A Cat In Outer Space".

Developer

thanks for checking out our game and your feedback! ... in outer space is by far the hardest of the 3 games :)

I love the arcade style minigame anthology, and this really captures the old atari feel.  It was definitely too hard for me lol, the best I think I did was get to the 4th stage of the space one (I died cause my cursor went out of the window so my controls stopped working D: ). The mechanic in the pong game where each player has their own territory is genius though, and it looks like the end point on a player's side shifts when they make a point.  It didnt feel like I was able to direct the ball but the zones I think are great.   With games like this where its very easy to die, I feel like it needs a quicker restart to the level though, so you can try again without losing tempo.

thanks for your feedback! a quicker restart is a really good point! will think about that, thx! :)

Very interesting take on a diagetic main menu. I felt a bit smart to try and tune in to the noise and see what happened (instead of starting a "dream" with the tuned in channel).

Unfortunately the music was unbearable, a bit sad that you couldn't turn off the music separately from the sfx. But other than that, it has a nice retro early 80's aesthetics.

Developer

thanks for your feedback!

we'll check out how to separate music from sfx options in future games! :)

The game feels super retro! I would change the game to not play one looping track, although it did sort of remind me of the looping tracks that old arcade games have. I liked that the menu had interactive elements. As for the games, the platforming game and the pong game are fun but the space game is a bit dull. other than that, nice work!

what a cool game experience!  loved the minigames but especially loved the unique title screen loop -was really fun to find all the things you could click on and interact with while picking the next level to fall asleep to.  Such a cool concept :D  Also loved the cat's animation and sound when it wakes up.  And the hidden cat felt authentic too lol xD  Great work on this -really enjoyed it! :D

Developer(+1)

thanks for your feedback! this is definitely our most sophisticated main menu so far :D

I was not good enough to beat any of these games - they are very unforgiving - but I had a lot of fun playing because everything else was fantastic - the art, the sound effects, the music, the little interactions in the menu screen, the choice of palette. I really loved this. I'll probably keep coming back to it until I do win at least one of the games. I would love to see a point-and-click adventure or a puzzle game or something featuring the cat. Those are big dreams!

A really charming collection of retro minigames! I really liked the commitment to the aesthetic and the way that the "start" screen for each game communicated which control scheme to use.

Five stars for fun! I enjoyed this game very much, and played it several times during the jam. I was able to beat “Rolling” and “Court”, but not “Space”. The enemy’s sudden changes of pattern kept throwing me off!

“Court” seems less polished than the other two, perhaps not surprisingly since it was the last one added. As near as I can tell, the opponent AI moves itself immediately to be in the path of your shot, plus or minus some random jitter which means it might miss. If I’m right, winning is very heavily luck-based. I also couldn’t discern any clear way to control the direction of your shot.

The music is nice, but gets a bit repetitive after a while. Turning off the music and sound effects independently would be a good enhancement, as the sound effects in “Space” are helpful (especially the charge-shot sound).

Developer

thanks for your feedback! really appreciated!

we'll definitely check separating the music/sfx on/off option as it totally makes sense :)

This was super fun! A play on classic games with a neat twist! I really appreciated the tube TV styling! Way to go!

OMG! I love it so much. It's a complete and polished game with very beautiful art (the cat's room is my favourite). It is clear that a lot of effort and love has been put into this.

I didn't finish any of the three game though, hope I'm not missing some cool ending :(
