How does your game fit the theme?
My game idea based on 60 seconds to thief a house before the time out.

Did you use any assets?
No, I didn't.

Did you use any other assets besides the music? Why isn't that even stated in the description?

Developer

Nope,  just the music.

And I wrote at the second line in the description that the game made using GB Studio and that means it's normal to use the game engine's assets just by writing the game engine's name in the description.

Nice presentation! I like the thief and their cape, and the SMB3 Big-Little Island style graphics.

The selection cursor flickers when it's on top of a level icon. If those icons are just made as part of the background, I think that won't happen!

The game is so good and fun to play.

A fun little game! I like the idea of being a tiny thief grabbing what they can in a limited amount of time. Little Thief is so smol and cute.

Very cute graphics, all in all fun game! I enjoyed it :)

The title Little Thief isn't kidding haha, that guy's tiny!

I had fun playing through the levels, I also got stuck grabbing an object on level 3, but no other bugs on my first play-through. I went back to replay a level and I noticed that when I picked up an item, it said "7 items collected" since the variable never cleared from playing the first time. So with that I could just walk through the door and win without having to get the items again.

Nice work, I agree with juzek that some more mechanics like a roll could be fun! While I was playing, for an added challenge I thought it'd be neat if there was a cat chasing after you and would slow you down if it caught up to you.

Developer

I remember that I made the variable return to 0 after you win the level but maybe I forgot to do it in some levels or something.

And yeah I think if I added a rolling by pressing "B" or a pet chasing the player would be better, but idk is it ok to update the game after the submission or not.

Anyways thanks for your suggestions and comment :)

The version of the game submitted to the jam is the only one that can be submitted for ratings. But by all means you can continue to update it outside of the jam! I think most developers plan to do at least a little more polish/updating on their games for playing after the jam (I know I am).

Also, if it helps, this item-count issue happened to me when I beat the game and then replayed level 3.

I liked the premise and the locked door mechanic. I froze once or twice when collecting items, and level 2 started counting with 0, so it wouldn't let me win. I think it was fun! If you added on one other mechanic for movement such as rolling fast, but only in a straight line, I think it would be really great. Let me know if you make post jam updates!

Developer

Thank you!

I'll try to improve the movement system next time and idk how level 2 started counting from 0 but maybe if you restart the level it will work well.

Thanks for your suggestion btw :)

I love your game, it's a bit too easy to stress, but I had a bug on level 3, where I got stuck on the TV for 15seconds, so I had to run a bit to finish the level at the last second :D . On the other hand you say you didn't use any asset, but the music is provided by Gb Studio, right? I think I already used it for another project ! Nice work anyway, and original !

Thank you so much for your feedback!

Glad to see you playing my game on Game Boy and liked my game :)

I don't consider the music an asset because it came with GB Studio and in that frame  a lot of people used and no one wrote that it's an asset.

Yes you are not the only one to have used existing musics under Gb Studio, I also mentioned them, but no problem, me it is the first game where I made the music ;)

Fun game and seemed to have pretty good level design. I think level 3 was probably the best. I also really like the oversized sprite art.
