I really love the artwork.

I could not figure the "word" thing out until I looked at one of the screenshots :-)

Good job

Developer

Thank you for playing! Our artist is very happy that people are enjoying it as well. C: The word grabbing definitely takes a little bit to get used to, haha. Thanks again!

This is amazing! I love the art, the gameplay and the story! Very nice entry!

Developer

Thank you so much for enjoying it!! :D

Cool concept and creative use of the "words" play. The art used is also very beautiful.

However, sorry to say I encounter a bug in which I cannot continue.

I've recreate the situation and encounter that again in my playthrough below:

Developer

Wow, thanks for recording it! That area was actually meant to be entirely inaccessible-- i.e. the platform was meant to be completely unreachable and only act as a wall. So the area beyond is the Great Unknown that has nothing set up haha. Thank you for playing and recording as well! :0

Really interesting mechanic and absolutely beautiful art! In particular, the backgrounds and platforms are gorgeous. Like the other commenters, I encountered some bugs and had difficulty using the touchpad to guide the stem. I also wished there was a way to advance through dialog quickly if you've heard it before. Overall, great entry!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Yes, unfortunately the game is pretty exclusively optimized for mouse-- I'm very sorry it didn't offer the same experience for you. :< That's a very good comment on the dialogue as well! Thank you again. C:

Very original concept, and polished art ! Nice game.

Developer

Thank you!! Our artist thought of the base concept as well-- she's very happy about the reception haha.

Awesome concept, very original. Bravo!

Very impressive game you got here! Just about everything oozes polish and I have to say grabbing the words is a game mechanic that I've never encountered before and it was implemented very well... once I remembered that I could adjust the sensitivity with the [Esc] key. You get full "Innovation" points from me for that!

The only real issue I encountered was one time, after I died and replayed the section, there seemed to be a whole bunch of jumbled up text all on the screen at the same time that made it impossible to read. Other than that, fantastic job!

Developer

Omg I thought I fixed that bug. I'm glad you enjoyed the word grabbing mechanic! Our artist came up with the concept and I'm sure she enjoys people commenting on how innovative the mechanic she came up with is. Her brain is wrinkly af

This gave me so much NintendoDS feelings :D

Great game, the art style is super lovely.

Developer

hahah we got a few comments mentioning this would’ve been great for the 3DS

thank you so much for playing our game and your kinds words!

I really enjoyed this game and it didn't feel like a quick game for a game jam at all!
The art style and design of character, background, and animation of everything were soo good, it made the game really enjoyable.

My only issue is the words. At first, it amused me, but then it was very hard to read and I think it could be a big obstacle for people with dyslexia, so keep that in mind.

In general, great cute game, definitely will come back to it.

Developer

Thank you so much for taking the time to play our game and leaving such a thoughtful comment!

I agree 100%, if we had more time we would’ve spent it on making am accessibility toggle to remove the wiggling or slow it down a bit to help with legibility. Unfortunately we spent the last few days of the jam rushing to get things done and killing as many bugs as possible haha.

thank you again! c:

Amazing. I gave it a perfect score. I also ran into the same glitch as TomatoOmelete, but I still absolutely love the game. So innovative, simply amazing art, sound, solid controls, unique idea of the stem mechanic.

We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed our game, I really appreciate you taking the time to write out such a thoughtful comment!

We’ll work on fixing up those bugs post jam, we definitely have a few issues that need to be improved in and getting all this feedback is extremely valuable c:

Wonderful music, art, and gameplay! The mechanic is really creative and I love it.But I fell down into an area where Tomatoomelet fell down too. :( Still, I had tons of fun playing! Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much! So happy you love our game!

That bug seems to be fairly common, we’ll definitely need to fix that up once the jam is over. Thank you for playing regardless of that c:

Amazing concept. The flower mechanic is such an innovative idea! This game oozes charm. Art is beautiful and the music is so fitting! All of the details were so fun to find in the stages. My stem kept getting stuck on surfaces, albeit I did try adjusting the sensitivity, but unfortunately my mouse would escape my screen sometimes (even in fullscreen) And I really wanted to complete this, and I'm still going to give it another go, but there were 3 times where my character was frozen in place, animating, but not moving,  once on the first level and twice on the ant level. I can't wait to see the rest when I give it another shot, you got something really cool here.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game and taking the time to write such a thoughtful comment! Appreciate that A LOT.

I definitely agree about the mouse control, I personally had a hard time with it and had to adjust the sensitivity to make the game a bit easier for myself. We should totally look into locking the bounds and smoothing out that control in the near future. I’m so sorry about that bug you encountered :c I’ll let our devs know so we can make sure to fix that next time around! c:

WOW! really creative idea !

This was a really cool and unique idea for a game! There are so many ways you can expand this game too! Overall, great art, music and game play! As others mentioned the text was a bit difficult to read although the text effects were cool! Good work!

Developer

Thank you so much for enjoying! We're definitely grindin' our gears on how this can be expanded (and honestly, there was quite a bit that didn't make it into the final build owo). The guy who worked on the text is very happy that you liked the effects overall haha. Thanks again for playing!
