Nice game! At first I got stuck because I wasn't aware there are other actions besides going around, maybe you should make it more obvious, for example display the output of the HELP command when you enter the text-adventure mode for the first time. It'd be nice to see the continuation of the story!
Great game with a nice story. Managed to complete it and found the secret of magic! The switch to/from text adventure mode was a surprise, but worked really well and is an innovation I've never seen before. Polished, with nice graphics and sound, and a lot of content crammed into a small game. Well done to both of you!
Thanks for playing!
A really clever idea. Being a rat let's you experience the environment in a totally different way! Very cool.
This was a lot of fun! Switching between a text adventure and running around was a really interesting game mechanic, and finding the artwork felt very rewarding. Took me a bit longer than I thought to figure out all the secrets but that's also half the fun. Awesome game!
This was a pretty cool! I wasn't able to get past the spikes but I enjoyed the 2 game modes.
wow, cool, perfect!!
Fun mechanics and very nice style! Good work, keep up :)
Thought I would become a rat, but there was a text adventure instead. (Remember, Zelda: Minish Cap). Still, though, it was a nice gameplay too! I love the art and music, they are perfect. The game and the difficulty are fine. You could have added WASD too. The story is very well written
Well done.
Thanks for the feedback! My daughter wrote most of the story — glad you like it :)
I would love to have more games from “creative penguin”. Keep it up!
The Art is pretty good, I like how it feels like there is almost 2 ways of playing this game with how much the playstyle differ between the human and rat form.
A good game with a very cool core mechanic! I really enjoyed the gameplay of switching genres, great work!
We had planned to include more genres but ran out of time. Hoping to add more in later.
Very nice game! Loved the mix of mechanics with the text based RPG style. Nice music and sounds, fits the game very well. Took me a while to work things out but that's part of the fun and the concept was secret so suits very well!
I loved the genre-switching mechanic! It's not obvious at first that you can type T to transform again, but overall I really liked the text-based interface. The 2D part could have used support for WASD keys, but that's a nitpick.
I feel the music really fits the vibe, did you make it as part of the jam as well?
Thanks for playing! I'll add WASD after the voting period — thanks for the suggestion!
Wooo I finished the game! Really cute. Nice that you made it together with your dad! I loved the innovative combination of isometric and text-based. Thanks for giving me some HELP crossing the spikes. Also, going back "This doesn't seem like a good time being human" whahaha :)
Good video game with great graphics
Very cool. I love the idea of a mixed graphics and text adventure. Great artwork and sound. Well done.
I got two “spells”. I thought I could sneak through the spikes in rat form but that didn’t work and didn’t know what else to do next. Looks promising.
You can, in fact! Try to LOOK around and notice the emphasized words.
Fun little game. I made it through the gap area but I couldn't make it the blue pressure plate beyond the spikes. I like the music a lot it's very fitting. Also thank you for playing my game :D
Thanks for playing! We tried to highlight important keywords in the text for areas like the spikes, but maybe it still wasn't clear enough.
I liked the transition between a dungeon crawler and a text-based adventure game. I had to do some thinking to ensure I remembered where I had already been and where I still needed to go, but it was fun discovering the secrets. Nice job!
Thanks for playing! We had plans to add other animals and genres in but ran out of time. I like the idea of adding something to help you remember where you've been.
Must be fun making games with your dad! I found the treasure with secret of adaptation. What do i do next?
There are 4 secrets in total. Did you find the one beyond the spikes?
