Interesting climbing mechanic. Sometimes frustration :D. The levels are nicely designed.

It has a cool concept for a rage game, the jump mechanic is unique. Though, I think my fingers are dislocated after pressing "A" and "D" so much. XD

Felt very nice to play! The movement felt tight and the times I fell it didn't feel unfair, which other similar games doesn't always get right. Very satisfying to play!

Gives the same vibes as Climb over it. Climbing a mountain with mechanics design to easily let you fall now and lose a lot of progress. I definitely raged some on the last jump after struggling. I like how you replaced a jump mechanic with the climb one, it gives more skill expression as your distance from the wall impacts the jump boost. I believe you succeded with the rage part but I think you should alter the climb sound effect as it became repetitive and irritating after a while, I suggest randomising the sfx's pitch each time you activate it.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I actually coded it to change the pith of the sfx based on the distance of the attack, but for whatever reason it doesn't work on the web version of the game.

Interesting game. The platforming mechanics are somehow satisfying. The music and sound effects are good.

Just one thing. The resolution is too high, I think because I can not fit that into my full HD screen.

Interesting mechanic! I found the beginning too tough. Resolution was also too high for my laptop.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I made the beginning the way it is to make sure the player can know that using the tip of the attack will make you go higher and vice versa. I'm unsure if I made this mechanic to difficult to understand, or if it would've been better to just tell the player the mechanic directly. If you have thoughts or opinions, please feel free to let me know!

Thought I was doing so well climbing the mountain, and then I wasn't :) Nice job, that was a fun few mins

described as 'rage game' I found the controls too difficult, couldnt get past the first 30 seconds - seems deliberate, what you intended :), so that's fair.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Did you still enjoy the game despite being unable to progress much? Also, what about the controls to you seemed to difficult, too difficult to understand, too difficult to execute, or something else?

I would probably go with having a visual sign in the level bagkround that explains - either with pictures or words - how to use the mechanic, since its unusual (and potentially frustrating when the player has no idea what's going on).

Also probably warm-up the player with some easier examples first to practice on / master.

The controls felt too sloppy - the animation and the effect didn't synchronise well, it seemed arbitrary which part of the animation had to collide with the wall to have an effect, like I was just guessing each time. For a mechanic like this I think the namiation should visually match the effect, so the player can see when/why they're going to succeed or fail.

I couldn't get past the second jump - didn't know if I was just too low skill, or if I was supposed to be pixel perfect on a different part of the animation, or if there was something I was doing wrong, or ...

Developer

Thanks for the suggestions and feedback, Greatly appreciate it!

This games platforming mechanics are oddly satisfying, the movement and sound it makes are just magical. My one complaint is that the game by default is bigger than my monitor so part of it is cut off.

Developer

I'm glad to know that you like the game! Would you say that the cut off screen hindered the gameplay? If the screen is cut off, I'm also assuming the timer in speed run mode is not visible.
