Game description
"Infection at Outpost 82" is a turn-based RPG, where your party members can secretly be "infected" and turn on you. You must carefully decide who to trust and who to give the best equipment, lest they turn on you.

Theme interpretation
The game is heavily inspired by John Carpenters "The Thing". Similarly to that movie, the concept of characters secretly being evil was very interesting to me. You have to choose who to trust and who might have a secret.

Really neat game, great work! You did a great job building a world that felt alive and real even with a very small amount of pixels. I felt invested in the characters and the writing is solid, it always felt realistic and purposeful, without filler fluff. The gameplay loop was cool and I really enjoyed snooping around the facility trying to figure out our escape. Finding loot in chests was always entertaining and the random battles were a nice touch to spice things up (even if they were very easy with a couple pieces of equipment). I really enjoyed how the player is thrown right into the game and must figure out everything for themselves, it felt like a very good fit with the theme/setting. My only real gripe with the game was with the movement, I found it wayyy too slow, and it was frustrating with the all backtracking that is necessary in this exploration style game. And the beep sound effect that plays every player step was very grating after a while. I played enough to get 3 party members and speak to the doc about the infection but stopped shortly after due to the annoyance of the movement. Which is too bad because I loved everything else about the game and would happily have spent the time to complete it otherwise. Overall, I tihnk this is a really solid entry with a clear vision and theming. Great job!

i have not completed the game yet but loved the style. Took some time to figure out the working of E. Sometimes we need to keep the direction key pressed while pressing e to make it work. But it was an immersive experience and kept me hooked. Great work. Saved it to my collection to try to finish it again later.

Cool atmosphere. I was able to escape without any of my 3 members turning infected. Movement being a bit smoother and a clearer indications in the fight scene would help improve quality of life. Nice little homage!

I like it and I love reference to The Thing. Atmosphere and art is great!

Just only thing for MS Edge game windows is too small. I had issue with reading dialogs and most of text. So I tried Firefox and it is working good.

Very atmospheric and moody game, love the art direction here. Great job!

If I was to change one thing about this, it would be to up the movement speed significantly because it takes a while to get around, but that does also lend itself to the retro-feel of this one.

I started playing it and immediately saw the reference to The Thing and then I saw your description. It's a simple implementation of this concept, good job :)
