Pretty solid platformer, my only gripe is that traps are hard to see. It’s great that enemies glow in the dark.
Sound effects, art, gameplay and level design is all awesome. Great submission
One of my favorite games on this jam. Very nice atmosphere and interesting variety to the standard platformer.
At first I was a bit irritated because I was losing a lot, but after a few tries I got hooked and started to understand how to play it. You can catch a very pleasant flow after some time.
The life bar could definitely be done in a more "fiery" way :)
Clever idea well executed.
Really enjoyed this, the controls worked well. The art style and animations were great.
Did everything it needed to, really cool take on a platform game!
Well done!
Wow, did you just fridge the main character in the opening cinematic?? I busted out laughing at the premise of the game. I really appreciated your Controls screen. Letting the player control and being able to jump right into the game from the controls screen was a really nice touch. The controls overall felt pretty good. I didn't get very far, because I wasn't sure what would and wouldn't replenish my oxygen and I got hit too many times. I would also maybe brighten the sight radius overall. It's a little too dark and makes it difficult to navigate or tell there's a platform to jump to nearby.
Really well done though. Looks nice, plays nice, and sounds nice, too!
A very original platform game! A little hard for me, but fun! Good visuals and good effects! Good work!
I really like the light on the ground if you take damage. Would be awesome if you can collect some of the flames you lost to gain a little bit of health again :)
Nice visuals, but give a little more hints where to go - IM LOST xD
Very good graphics and cool gameplay.
The only thing I don't like is the camera. It feels wrong: you need to move to the side of the camera to let it move. It is an issue easy to solve, anyway: if you're using cinemachine, what you need is to add an empty object as child of your fire, moved to the left or to the right. Then make the cinemachine component to follow this empty child
So, cool game. It is the most jumping fire in the world. A neat danger for everyone. Well done.
Yeah I like it! Very hard and funny. Good graphics too.
Nice fun little game.. Looks and sounds amazing..
A very unique game! I love the concept of it and the execution is on point.
nice work :D I couldn't ever get to the ending as I kept crashing into the water lol
I didn't really noticed the damage I got from the enemy, until I died ;)
I really liked the art and sound!
It's interesting! though a bit hard in the beginning, for me it's frustrating a little bit as I need to get used to many aspects at the same time, like the chasing ghosts, falling traps, control and life bar.... It takes time to learn the observation in the map, and it could be even harder when it gets darker, which might make a new player struggle. (or maybe just I am not that familiar with platformer lol)
The game is good, and it could be even better if there are some simpler or teaching levels in the beginning!
you're definitely right, we should have probably introduced enemies, pickups and stuff one at a time, the current start of the game is a good point to start after 1-2 tutorial levels. lessons were learned. Thanks for the feedback!
This game is a lot of fun!! Its super challenging, but if you pay attention to lighting effects in the dark areas of the screen you can avoid most of the damage in the game. I did get lost quite a few times though.
that was the idea! so happy it sort of works then =) what we learned in this jam is it's quite hard to know what other people will understand or not when playing a game you made, because you absolutely lack perspective.
I love and hate you guys so much at the same time lol. you did deliver your words and this was pure madness. I died so many times and yelled so much at the screen. got through 4 levels I guess (or maybe 3) and I would like to think that I am at the top of the leaderboard lol.
one time I got one shotted by one of those traps that drop from ceiling right before I finish the level . I was really close to the trap though, I don't know if that was a bug or your intentions to make me crazy lol.
And just a tip for everyone else: if you move really fast and just a tiny bit above the bear traps(traps on the ground) they don't get you even if u activate them. this saved me too many times from annihilation. lol
please do not fix this if it's something you didn't mean to happen in the game ^ lol
it was meant to happen, and glad you liked it =D
I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback! (and spoiler: there's 5 levels in all, so you were super close! But the last one is pure evil from our level designer, we had to sneak in some torches last minute and let the player jump higher just to make something a sane person could do)
Is it just me having trouble with the screen resolution, can it be made full screen (1920 x 1080) please.
I'll hold off on rating until then.
Now with full screen! And thanks for making me learn something new about itch.io =)
I like the idea. I think easing in to the different mechanics a bit more will help people feel more welcomed to the game. overall feels nice. I'll probably try again full screen next time :D.
Very creative. I found it very difficult as I don't play platformers and this feels like a boss level in a platformer :)
I think the main takeaway for this jam for us is that balancing difficulty for a level you know inside out is really hard ^^
Great concept! Nice one guys.
