Pretty good game. The music and level transitions are awesome. 1 critic I would give is that movement is too much momentum based and hard to control. I could not finish level 2 as it was too difficult to control the player. Other than that, Well done!
Thank you for the feedback.
A solid entry! I had a lot of fun! I loved the death animation, vfx and sfx! How did you do it?
Please, if you still have some time, play and rate mine! ;D
Thank you for the feedback.
The death animation uses post-processing effects, specifically Chromatic Aberration(The red and blue at the edges of the screen), Vignette(The dark at the edges of the screen), and Lens Distortion(The camera getting sort of wavy). These effects are controlled by a coroutine in a script that is called when the player dies. In the first .1 second of the coroutine the chromatic aberration and vignette gradually move to 100 and 50 values respectively and then the opposite in the last .1 second. The lens distortion moves its value up or down randomly every fixed update for the entire coroutine and then is cleared with the rest at the end.
The sound effects were made with ChipTone. I don't remember the exact settings for that sound effect, but the Arpeggio module is a big part of it.
Love it!
I love the sprites you have used for the background and edges.. a really nice game. Would be next level with a little polish on movement, perhaps reduce the drag and such. Over all really liked it!
Thank you for the feedback.
Good fun, the effects were great, player control felt good to me though a teensy bit floaty. I couldn't quite get through the castle water jumps but finished the other levels and liked them, good job.
Thank you for the feedback.
Cool game! I really like the art, and the concept of the whole thing being a dream, and trying not to go above a certain heart rate is really cool! I also quite like the mechanics, although I do have a few pointers. The platforming feels quite sloppy right now, since it takes so long for your character to turn around/get up to speed. A bit more acceleration on the movement would be nice. Also, in my opinion, it takes too long to drown. Whenever I intend on drowning, it's quite annoying to have to wait so long. Although the screen effect is really cool! Anyway, despite those issues, this is still a really solid submission. Good job! :)
Also, maybe you could check out my game? :)
Thank you for the feedback.
Nice little concept, I absolutely love the screen effect when you die, excellent work!
Thank you for the feedback.
The tutorial is amazing, it is really simple and catchy and it made me want to play fuhrer levels.I like the music and art style. I would probably make the player more "jumpy" :P
Thank you for the feedback.
You did a good job on this game. The different art styles are cool. What you were going for came out well in the designs, having to use the verticality to figure out the levels. Nice Job, good game jam entry.
Thank you for the feedback.
This was really fun, I loved seeing my little dead capsule selves all over. I couldn't get passed the sketchbook level, but I'm just bad at this type of game, it does not take away from the really fun concept and game you designed! Please rate our game if you would like :) https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-jam-2022/rate/1554224#post-5960926

I love the graphics, it's awesome! In some way it reminds me of Yoshi's Story.
Very clever idea to make a physics puzzle and use dead bodies as obstacles :)
Well done :)
Thank you for the feedback.
Great idea. Became kind of addicting trying to explore all the parts of it! I like the running theme in the music too.
Thank you for the feedback.
Brilliant idea!
I love the concept and would love to see this fleshed out into a full game!
I'm simply blown away by the depth of this game and how detailed it is!
Love the sprites, and the on screen visual effects!
It's a breath of fresh air from what I expected from a 2D plat former!
Thank you for the feedback.
Hi there , your game is AWESOME! but I found a bug where if you jump right before drowning and then when you respawn it jumps continuously , other then that the game is really good !!
Thank you for the feedback. I don't seem to be able to reproduce that bug quickly, but I will look into it after the rating period is over.
Wish you a good luck ahead!
I love the visuals to this game. The movement doesn't feel great with the sliding around. I stopped at the "you can drown in the water" part because it took forever to wait. Maybe add a breath meter when underwater and shorten the time?
Thank you for the feedback. I thought I had reduced the slidyness to a good level, but I guess its just one of those things that you get used to and I should have had someone test it. I do like the idea for the breath meter instead of just the somewhat unclear gradually increasing post-processing effects.
Yeah, it took a whle for the post processing to kick in. I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong or what. Platformers are tough to nail. Be super proud with what you accomplished! For 10 days, it looks nice.
Really like the idea of having to die to progress. Drowning did take a long time, but overall it was a fun game.
Thank you for the feedback. The idea behind taking the whole time to drown in the tutorial level was to have the player learn how long they can safely stay underwater for levels like the flooded cave. I did reduce the time in the sketchbook level where the water was only for drowning.
Nice game, feels a bit unpolished, BUT the amount of it is impressive, really nice tutorial, took me a while to wait for drowning though, need patience to die xD
I love the way the game looks and the effects with loading/reloading the scenes, I wanna learn to do it. I felt a bit lost on the map. Great submission though, really fits the theme and I love cute game, it's sad that I need to die :3

As far as the scene transitions go this is the video that I started with. You should probably do it using a coroutine in code instead of animations, but this is a good place to start. You can look at my SceneLoader script here for how I did it.
