Did you use any existing assets? If so, list them below.
All of the models are my own models - a lot of them I had done previously. The terrain (mountains and islands etc.) I did now, I had to remesh and put animations to all the characters etc - almost all textures were done now during the jam and are all my own textures. I reworked Kenney's pirate ship asset and remeshed, reworked and textured it to better fit into the game. A lot of modelling work like remeshing was also done now and characters tweaked to better suit the game itself.

I can't believe you created all the assets by yourself and also made such a cool game. This is incredible!
Don't know what to say.
You managed to create / modify the assets, implemented a lot of mechanics, designed a level, and put a story around it. AWESOME! Congrats!
Very cool to see a PS2 level 3D game in a gamejam! When fully fleshed out this would be a game to look out for! Even with this prototype I can see the charm of the 2 characters, a LA noir fox and penguin! The soundtrack was also catchy (an entire song!)
I share the same feedback as the other players. There were a few bugs, ill just point out what I remember. The voice overs clip based on proximity, so while traversing the world, they may cut in and out. I got stuck in a few places where the models clip through each other (e.g. when jumping onto the side ropes of the suspension bridges, or when jumping at awkward angles onto rocks). Attempting to move during the initial cutscene casued the camera to go wacky; at one point I was looking at fox from under him (perhaps camera limits would help here).
Nonetheless, credit where its due, this is an ambitious undertaking for a gamejam! Looking forward to seeing further development on this one!
What a cute platformer! Game is oozing with personality. Really love the character models and textures. Fun voiceover. The music is wild, where is that from?
Some hickups are to be expected, fighting enemies and the jumping would be my first upgrade post jam. How it feels to shoot the enemies (the teleporting they're doing freaks me out) and I don't really understand when they hit me. As for the jumping I would want to speed it up in some way, and find a way to keep sprint momentum when jumping.
I hope you don't take that too harshly, had a really fun experience with this jam and could definitely be a funny cute collect-athon going forward :)
I am so glad you fixed the skip cutscene bug, that was a dealbreaker for me! It ended up a fun plattformer, the voiceover was a nice touch
I completely agree! I knew as soon as I submitted originally it was something that was going to need to be finished and implemented - I'm really glad you liked it, thank you! :)
Loved it! There are definitely more than a few bugs though.
Thank you! I'm glad you did! Haha yeah - definitely something that needs some more fine tuning :)
I really like the aesthetic of the characters, and the player movement feels really good and snappy. However, I keep getting stuck after the checkpoint. If you die to the little ninjas after pushing the statue, the land with the checkpoint and the adjacent floating boulders will unload, keeping me in a death loop.
Oh no sorry about that! I thought I removed that feature - I was attempting to optimize the game a bit so it wouldn't start lagging when the boss fight happens, I'm going to get this fix done right away to avoid any more death loops. I'm glad you liked it and managed to find a way out of the loop of death :)
Great to hear that! Let me know when it's fixed so I can try it again!
This was really fun! The aesthetics were on point and I liked the little random dialogues when you go along. The music on startup is a little loud though. Setting it at half or third of the original volume will definitely help the initial introduction. But I do like that you can adjust it in the settings. Also, for shooting, it might be worth exploring the projectile spawning from where the gun point is at and going to the location of where the player's cursor hit goes. Overall, I really liked the game. Great job!
Ah that's a really good call - I was really struggling with making sure all the sounds are properly balance - thank you for this! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
It was actually pretty fun. I think if you killed all the enemies in an area and you died right after, maybe it should start back from where you were after that rather than have to travel through the empty space until where you were. But that might have been hard to make, so then it may be better to leave it like this. Nice job on it!
Thank you so much! Yeah I had thought to possibly add more checkpoints possibly or have the enemies respawn - definitely something to look into :)
Does jumping while dashing make you travel farther? I'm having trouble clearing the 2nd jump right in the beginning after the bridge. I've made it a couple times, but most of the time it just doesn't seem to go far enough. Definitely loving the story and model design so far though!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it! :) Unfortunately dashing and jumping doesn't make you go further at the moment - but double jumping should do the trick to give you that extra height needed for all the jumps, I found dashing is more useful against the ninjas to just be able to keep some distance from getting hit - definitely something though I'll look into for future updates!
That was awesome! Thanks for the tip about double jumping. I love 3d platformers, this was really well put together! I thought the floating rocks had a really good fluid movement to them: random enough to be different and fun but not too random that they're just impossible to climb. The voice acting was top notch! :D
Not a bad game but there needs to be a way to skip cutscenes. It only happened once but a normal enemy was either way too tanky not going down or I kept missing point-blank shots. Good visuals, SFX, and music. I don't know if it fits the Last Stand theme but it was a good game.
Thanks for the feedback! I actually updated the game already to be able to skip the cutscenes now - it was a bug in the game actually that I was trying to solve before submitting, if you died and restarted at the different checkpoints, and definitely not great to sit through for anyone wanting to just do a quick run through :)
