Really tough! I can barely get the defenses set up before Earth is blown to smithereens. I actually think the controls are fine, you just need to ramp up the difficulty more slowly over time. Rather than reloading turrets, I might suggest it would be more clear if you were just grabbing new turrets from the planet and placing them where you please. Overall, I enjoyed attempting (and failing) to rescue our dear planet.
Hi, thank you for the feedback! Grabbing new turrents from earth is a great idea. We played around with similar thoughts but they didn't make it in the end due to time. But I think that idea is great and something we could play around with!
That was a lot of fun! I enjoyed the music too. Well done.
Thank you for playing and thnak you for the kind words!
Nice game. A bit difficult to control the ship but very good mechanics!
Thank you for playing!
Neat game, it took a little while for me to figure out that you needed to load the turrets up with colours and they'd fire at specific enemies.
Controlling the craft was a bit rough because you need to pickup the ammo, hit the turret, and then bring the turret within range of the enemy, and probably bump into earth along the way. Twas quite difficult.
Did feel nice when the turrets shot enemies.
Nice job
Thank you! We started building a tutorial but didn't have time to finish it. Might have made the learning curve better, guess we will never know:)
Lol I understand that last minute tutorial all too well, I just threw a wall of text together at the last minute (which people don't tend to read)
There'll always be next time!
I had some difficulties with controls at the beginning but after getting the hang of it it turned out to be really fun! Loved the music and the graphic also. Nice job!
Thank you for the kind words and thanks for playing!
I love the mechanics, it took a minute for me to get it but I dug it! Also I loved the music.
thank you for playing :)
Nice submission!
Here were some of my favourite things about it:
What I think could be improved:
Overall, really nice work
thanks for the feedback!
Interesting combination of mechanics, kind of arcade space shooter meets tower defense. I just wish the ship wasn't so hard to control, it become frustrating for me really quickly.
Thanks for playing! We wnet for the harder control mode but should probably have stuck with our initial version.
This is a neat game! The two different kinds of ammo and enemies was a good twist on the defense game formula. I found it really challenging to move the ship, which in turn made picking up and moving turrets difficult. The music was a nice choice, as it really heightens the frantic scramble to mount a last stand defense.
Yeah, we went with the harder control (thrust vs normal move) to add some challange, maybe we should have made a normal or hard mode with both options availible. Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback.
The concept is really cool, but controls are a bit hard. Great job!
Thnak you! We eill look at another control schema if we continue working on the game.
Still not being able to grasp the control well as it would get out of the screen. But nice graphics and sound.
Thanks fo the kind words!
loved the pixel art and music. and some of the mechanics were unique.
Thanks for the kind words!
Really nice game idea. I personally found the movement too floaty and hard to control. The Earth would die by the time I manage to adjust and move towards the enemies to place the turrets.
:D
Yeah, we built to movement systems and choose the one with thurst. With the feedback we gotten we should have choosen the other one! Thanks for playing!
really nice game. i am not good at flying and get the ammo to the points. just missing an option to lower the music/sound volume or turn them off. Well done
Great feedback, that is something i forgott to add!
Good job finishing the game. I like the inventive game mechanic. I'm terrible at flying though... Haha.
Hehe, thank you! I'm not that good at my game either:)
I'm flyyiiiiing. Flying past earth to miss my stop!
This is a nice game. I could definately see why you binded placing and taking turrets to different buttons. At first it seems unintuitive but later in the game it is so convinient.
Thank you, I can see both options viable with just one button or two. If we contiune working on it in the future I will have to test:)
Took me a while to figure out I had to move the ship inside earth to get ammo for the towers. Consider adding a gif to the itch page showing how to do it.
Great idea! Thank you
Really cool looking game, it was very fun to control the ship, and the music worked really well, but I wasn't 100% sure what I needed to do, otherwise really well done... good luck with the jam :)
Cool idea and a nice little game. I was struggling a little bit with the controls. Maybe it would help to have "pick up turret" and "place turret" as the same button.
I would also decrease the enemies' spawning rate, for new players it's hard to see what's going on before the earth is destroyed.
