Definitely one of the games so far, added to my list of favorites. You guys did amazing as team with what you accomplished in so little time. The game looks beautiful and is fun to play. Some suggestions:

  • the mouse cursor is ambiguous and didn't make it clear where in the cursor the click happens. Took me a while just to figure out how to click the initial trash. I like the idea of a coral as a custom cursor, but maybe have it shaped a little more like regular mouse with a regular click position
  • I would like to be able to skip the initial intro just like you can with the rest of the dialogue
  • As Akaki said, it's hard to tell apart some of the trash pick ups from the trash enemies. My suggestion would be to add a slight glow or outline to the pick ups.
  • Would have liked a little more details about each tower in the tooltips, it was hard o tell how they were different from each other.
  • Maybe an indication of where the waves will come from before they do so you know where to setup your defenses?
  • The sound effects are probably the only thing that doesn't feel very polished. Sounds for attacking, hits etc would go a long way.

Over great game. Grats. Wondering if you'll continue working on it after the jam?

Amazing execution, you guys make a great team.

My only suggestion would be to label the icons in the UI. Maybe at least once at the start to avoid clutter. The food icon was obvious, but the other 2 not so much. Maybe getting a progress indicator as well so you know how close you are to winning?

The drawings are really nice.

Is there a pattern to find the bomb or is it just completely random?

This was super cute. Added to my list of favorites for the jam! Playing this really motivates me to get back into drawing, thanks for the encouragement!

My suggestion would be adding a hotkey to push up or down instead of having to click (which can get cumbersome) and maybe another to skip the dialog. Because at level 3 I was losing too much and had to read the same thing again constantly 🤣

I rated 142 and am honestly tired of it lol. I made a collection of the ones I liked the most:

Why don't they want my love? Are they all my ex-wife?

Seriously tho, if you over-price something that no one is buying, is there a way to edit the price on the table? Or once you put it there it's gone and you have to replace it with something else?

Also would be nice to be able to see some indication in the UI that you can only hold 2 types of resources at once. That took me a while to figure out why stuff wasn't building. It was because of that.

I really loved your take on the theme. Grats on the game!

Really funny game. Bet you guys had a lot of fun with it.

My suggestion would be some sort of feedback on your progress. How many more viruses you need to win?

  • ESC is used by the web player to cancel fullscreen. So avoid using it for the menu, use something like P instead. Currently you can only open the menu if you go out of fullscreen.
  • Was hard to know if the upgrades were working because the UI doesn't show cost and your points don't update reflect what you just spent until you close the menu. That's a common symptom of the not letting the UI widget update while the game is paused. You have to set Process -> Mode to "Always" on the Control that handles and shows the points
  • Probably the quickest way to improve your gameplay would be to make the enemy spawns get faster over time. Just keep track of time since the game started and use that to determine how many/how fast to spawn enemies. Right now your game starts hard then gets very easy quickly. It should be the other way around.
  • I didn't know I could move with WASD until the very end. Maybe that's just me being dumb lol But I'd add that to your itch page anyway just to let people know.

To upgrade you press ESC then click the upgrade buttons. You must have more than 15 points to spend.

Solid mechanics and amazing graphics.

I just don't understand what does Marilyn Manson and Ozzy have against me?

Solid core mechanics. That's very hard to get right.

Wow the art is really top tier 5/5

Gameplay could have more content but it's solid enough for a gamejam as a solo coder. Good job making a successful submission.

Such a cute little music stand! Had a lot of fun hopping around (after a couple of minutes figuring out how to do so 🙃).

So you guys are working on fixing it post-jam, right? I'll be really looking forward to play it.

Haha loved the nome 🙃

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. But unleashing my entire stamina bar on a single zombie isn't killing them. Because of the lack of hit reaction it's hard to tell whether it's because I'm missing or something else.

But regardless, you did a good work on the ambience.

Perfect use of the theme and one of the saddest stories of our time. Was expecting to get Opportunity's famous last photo along with that message.

Goodbye Oppy 💔 Hopefully a museum is built around you someday.

Wow very impressive amount of stuff you managed to develop in only 10 days! That combination of genres is really interesting and makes me wanna try it in the future.

I think one of my towers glitched because it seemed to be firing too fast with too much range. But I'm not sure if it was intentional because the visual feedback on each tower shot makes it unclear what is going on.

Very cool. Appreciate the nice variety of spawns.

I couldn't get fullscreen to work on Chrome for some reason.

Very cute dinosaurs. Solid implementation.

Mind sharing what did you use for the leaderboards?

Love a reference to one of my favorite movies. Tarantino would be proud!

I would probably try to make it easier in the beginning, but you probably wanted it to be tense on purpose. Overall it came out great.

Very inspiring mix of genres. Makes me wanna try something similar next jam :P

It's so fun I'd be looking forward to play more if you ever update it with that list of missing features after the jam.

For some reason why 4yo loved this game. I wanted to rate other games but he wouldn't let me stop replaying your game dozens of times lol

Fun style. Simple but very well executed.

Amazing game. I've learned a lot about tower defense balance playing your game that I did wrong in my game. Such as earning money from each wave instead of just from each enemy. So hopefully my next one will be better.

Only problem I had was that I could never figure the difference between the 2 towers. I'm guessing the slingshot does more damage per shot so it's better against high armor enemies?

Very creative concept. Never seen anything like this before!

That's what she said!

I'm using Chrome in Windows 11.

Wow that's excellent. Did not expect games of this complexity in a game jam! I was surprised all your core mechanics are working well enough. Do you intend to continue development?

I'm somewhat close to Buenos Aires and I say KILL EM ALL!

I didn't quite understand what did I have to do during the battles? Do I just watch?

Great story, very fitting with the theme. Gameplay could have some difficulty scaling over time.

Just so you know, using ESC for pause menu tends to be a bad idea for web games because ESC cancels fullscreen. But I did like that you add F to toggle fullscreen. I did the same thing in my game and I'm surprised more people don't do the same 🙃

Haha, we picked very similar themes 🙃

I liked the general art style. Maybe the game should start a little easier and get harder later on. And in case you're not aware, some symbols show up in your text because apparently you're trying to use some emoji or something like that, that isn't supported in my PC.

Hey, glad you liked it. Google some art by Escher, he made some really amazing stuff!

One of the many things he was known for was drawing tiles that fit together seamlessly despite looking very differently from each other. Such as this one where he tiles bird together and space between them look like fishes, and vice versa!

O mundo impossível de Escher – a.muse.arte

The idea of the Escher tower was to make the Drawing Hands seem like it's drawing one of those birds. Then the birds splits into fishes like in that other drawing.

Interesting concept. But should have a slower difficulty scaling for the math impaired like me 🙃

Loved how quick and straight forward the game is.

If you ever continue work on it, then fighting the other pins like a beat em up would be hilarious lol

One of the better games in the jam. My only suggestion would be to make the regular shot and the super shot more visually different.

Grats on completing the game! It would be nice to have a fuel indicator in the UI.

Great use of the theme! The faces in the stands are really funny.

The dive doesn't really do any damage, does it?

It feels like the meteors eat my food some times? I'm not sure what's going on.

Very cute, great use of the Kenney assets. Overall feels very well put together and concise.

My feedback would that the hits needs to feel more impactful and the towers need to have a more clearly defined role. I'm guessing that's because you probably just didn't have the time left to make more types of enemies. Which is a problem I had on my game as well.
