I like the concept here and I think with some more time to work on it you could really have something special. The art and music works well together too. One suggestion I would have is that there are several times you break-up a word between two lines, but you usually have an unused line at the bottom of the dialogue box. It would be a lot easier to read if you moved the word all onto the same line so it's not broken up. It's a pretty minor thing but it would make it a lot easier to follow the story that way. Other than that, I wasn't sure where the statue was supposed to go and I ended up getting it stuck in a corner so I couldn't continue. Not sure what I was missing but I didn't know where I was supposed to send it too.

Overall though, fairly minor suggestions and even the short bit you have now is intriguing with good atmosphere so nicely done!

Nice and claustrophobic. Great atmosphere!

I do dig the unsettling vibe and the music hits that spot well. I hope you keep working on this, the idea has a ton of potential!

like the atmosphere, but it is pretty easy to get stuck in a unsolvable situation thinking it is doing something wrong.
But if, in this case, your idea is to make the player lose their sanity, you are successful hahaha

Very nice atmosphere! I got stuck at the statue part but love how you created a hook to make the game more intriguing right away and some very authentic music!

Might be nice to show the controls somewhere,  I think I figured them out but didn't see them. Also would be good to show when an item or person is interactable, the movement was a bit too quick at times to realize you were interacting with something.

Looked and sounded like a Gameboy game, thank you.

The art style is really nice, would have loved to see more of this in other submissions as I feel it captured the gameboy aesthetic really perfectly. Music is fantastic too!

Eerie!

I'd like to see more.

But i think i pushed the statue wrong, and now I'm stuck? :/

Can i pull it? Could you add controls to the description, so we know what buttons to press?

Developer

Sorry, but you can’t pull the statue right now, this is the extremely rough jam version so that isn’t a thing yet. I probably should’ve thought about that when I was making the game 😭

I’ll add a control description once I get home and have access to my computer.

(instead I was worried about the combat, which ended up taking too long, which is why there’s a disturbing lack of rooms in this release)

I know the feeling :'(

Anyhow, you've created a nice atmosphere to build on to.
