Interesting mechanic! I feel like I've seen it before but I'm not sure where. Great job!

Neat concept! I thought it was fun trying to figure out where the ship was. I wish the oxygen timer was less time based and went down as you moved around. That would give you more time to think and make it a little more strategic I think, then having it being about moving and jumping as much as you possibly can.

I think if you wanted to make it time based you certainly could, but I would have more upbeat music to really bring home the sense of urgency. Nice job overall though I thought it was a nice take on the Space theme.

Developer

That's an interesting idea, the movement based oxygen depletion!

Thanks for playing, and for sharing your thoughts! =)))

Really unique gameplay! There is something innately terrifying about making a huge jump and having no clue if it is going to be in the right direction or not. The music might not fit well alongside that feeling but it was really charming so I couldn't complain about that. Overall, had a lot of fun launching myself off into space with this one.

Developer(+1)

Cheers! I concede the music might not be a perfect fit; when I made it, the gameplay was very different from the finished product. Less destitution, more quirky jankyness ^^,

Thank you for your candor!

Very cool and original mechanic! It got me hooked for a while. I like that everything was simple here but very retro and I don't feel like it lacks anything. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, we hade that one idea for the gameplay and really honed in on it, trying hard not to overextend our scope and instead focus on making that one mechanic better.

Happy you liked it!

One of my favorites from the jam, great work!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! That means a lot, and makes us very happy to hear! <3

That was really fun!

I really like the landing-based proximity indicator. It's like twenty questions; it's a nice spatial reasoning puzzle. I learned to start doing extra test jumps to work out better what the direction of the ship was.

That's a cool arrangement of "Fly Me to the Moon"!

Great work!

Glad to know you enjoyed it :)

Thanks for the insight into a player's mind!

Super cute! Took me 3 plays before I found my ship!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you found it in the end!

Submitted(+2)

I couldn't find the ship, but absolutely loved the game mechanic, the art and the music.

Developer(+1)

Nice to hear! That you liked the game, that is. 🙃

Submitted(+2)

Love the little details about the game, how the waking is synced to the bgm, the parallax background, and the Fly Me to the Moon remixes! The mechanic is also very fun. Perfect little game for the jam.

Developer

I'm happy you enjoyed it! And thanks for taking the time to comment!

Unique concept! I didn't win the game, but i died right next to the ship 1 player character size away.. not nice bro

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

😩 im sorry, i will increase the ship hit box with by one player character immediately

I really liked the idea. The graphics also turned out very cool. Good game!

Developer

Thanks! I agree, @dafali makes some pretty sweet sprites! Thanks for playing!

Very fun. Nice music. Simple but charming graphics. I had so little of my tank left but I made it and it was rewarding.

Developer

Happy you made it back safely! Thanks for playing and reviewing!

Its a really unique idea. and the graphics are great

Thanks for playing!

The game's pretty fun, if disorientating :D Sometimes you can't see any asteroid on screen so you have to make a leap of faith and potentially go too far. It would probably also make the game easier if you could split the "jumped in the right direction" indicator into X and Y axes. Having to make long jumps *and* only getting a small hint as to whether you've chosen correctly is a bit much, I feel.

Other than that, I really liked the game and the graphics. I found the sounds and music to match well. Good job! :D

I made it with just 3% oxygen left :D

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I think you may be on to something with the x/y thing; balancing the feeling of being lost in space with the feeling of progression was the big gameplay conundrum we faced whilst developing.

Glad you made it back to your ship! Thanks for playing and commenting!

Awesome gameplay idea and well executed too! Definitely could be a good base to expand on for a bigger game.

Developer

Thanks a lot! =)

Developer

I'm happy you played! And that you got back safely!

Nice & simple! Got back to the ship with 1% left. Not very challenging to the mind IMO, but soothing. I really liked how the astronaut would step to the music.

Developer(+1)

Close call! Thanks for playing, and reviewing!
