How does your game match the theme?
The point is to keep your personal space from your boss (Mr. Gerk). Personal space - especially in the workplace from a micromanager - was the first thing to pop into my head.

Very neat! It has a great GB vibe. The art is simple, but effective. Soundtrack is subtle, but pleasing for ears. But for me the coolest thing about your game is it's concept. It's quite original and I like how you managed to integrate this pack man-like gameplay with it. Job well done!

I like the concept! I also like how you took personal space as a cool implementation of the game jam's theme! Coming from an office job a few years ago, this one made me LOL

Nice take on the theme :)

This is one of those short but definitely enjoyable games.

Only 2 problems is that when you move forward and backwards, your feet look so damn big lol, and uhh,  Mr Gerk getting stuck on coffee and causing lag :/

Still good!

Developer

Thanks! I'm getting ideas on how to clear up that sticking issue, and I spent multiple days just trying to clear the lag as much as I could, but the feet... THE FEET!

Dude's got big toes. XD

I'm glad you enjoyed it! :-)

There's nothing like a nice simple maze game! The enemies were smart enough that it didn't feel like a cakewalk, but stupid enough that it was trivial to run circles around them. The art and writing are also very cute!

The only bug I encountered was Mr. Gerk getting stuck beneath a cup of coffee in the last level, but I grabbed it from under him and kept going!

Great work!

Thanks so much for the kind words! And if I keep building stages after the jam, I'll definitely work to address that glitch (it's probably more simple than I'm worried it'll be). :-D

Its always nice to find gb studio games here. I liked a lot the use of the theme in this sea of space shooters! Really fun and simple game, if you manage to give some cartoonish design it would be even better! Maybe some upgrades too, like you get a medical license to leave work for a sick day and your boss temporarily runs from you! ahahaha

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! I had an upgrade or two in mind, but they were on the back burner while I worked out and cleaned up the main mechanics to what they are. Maybe in a future update! Thanks for the ideas! 😆

It's a neat little game and an interesting take on the theme. The names were punny. Not bad!

Developer

Thanks! ^_^

So relatable! And that was about about as stressful a actually working in an office! Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, and I'm so sorry, but thank you! XD

That gerk! How sneaky his movement!! And sometimes he camped on my coffee, which in turn made me invisible when I picked it up! I will assume this was a feature to give me an extra challenge.

Damn gerk always finding ways to make my day more difficult.

Relatable game, proper Gameboy look, sound, & feel.

10/10 would avoid boss again.

Developer(+1)

That Gerk!  And of course, it's TOTALLY a feature... but if it's too feature-tastic, can you elaborate so I can debug more later? ^_^;;

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it!

The use of the theme is unique. The small cutscenes between the levels add a lot of character to the game.  Also I like your take on the maze gameplay of Pacman.

Developer

Thanks so much, I'm glad you liked it! :-D

Heart pounding, great choice for audio. got me stressing.

Well done

Developer

Thanks so much! I don't have much music creation experience, so when in doubt, keep it simple. :-D

My god the theme is so relatable xD
Solid entry overall, very suspenseful!

game works great, reminds me a bit of pacman. although it doesn't control as smooth as pacman. you have to be pretty precise not to walk into walls. unique take on the theme, I like that, although its a bit depressing. I do often get giant lag spikes during the game. it randomly dips down to like 5-20 fps.

it's also not to long, just the right amount of time. i like that in jam games.

Developer

I was doing all I could to clean up and speed the game along, some sections I just couldn't speed up enough without other issues. And thanks for the heads-up about the walls, if there's a better way to adjust in a future update maybe I'll be sure to put more focus into that.

Thanks so much for playing! :-)
