I love the art style. It's a really calm and cozy game.
Feel like it was missing a little bit of action. Not sure how and what, but it definitely has a foundation story-wise and art-wise. Maybe something to do while in space?
Space felt vast and empty (which is cool and real, but it can be hard to know if we're actually going somewhere). I did find something eventually :)
Once again, great foundation for something great to come. Good job on your submission! I'll make sure to follow your development if you continue
Awesome! Thank you so much! and I agree with you with everything there, I will need to think deeply about the gameplay so it isn't too boring, especially space travel.
Está bien que sea un prototipo real. Gráficos ok. La música es algo repetitiva. Buen trabajo.
Great concept, needs something just to give it momentum. Love the art.
I agree, a compelling story and some real places to visit. I will definitely turn this into something
Space travel on a gameboy, awesome idea! I like the gameplay and mechanics, I grew some plants and went to the other station :D would love to play the finished one if you keep working on this :)
Awesome! I'm glad you like it!
I like the idea of a game revolving around hydroponics, but while roaming through the map I couldn't find any points of interest :( Would like to see the future development of this!
I will definitely make sure I do something with the idea, a full release would be awesome!
Very good starting point for something really interesting. Nice art, nice music, nice core idea. Looking forward to see how this develops.
Great work!
Thank you so much, all these comments are making me want to start it as soon as I can!
This is really impressive, especially for something made in such a short time as this jam. I love the art style, it's detailed but always very clear. Also, having the ability to press start for an explanation of what to do is a genius idea especially for Gameboy games. Fantastic work!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you like the artwork!
I hope you continue with this development, it's nice and I think it can evolve in great shape.
Many thanks, I think so to!
The aesthetics really build the atmosphere well! I specifically really like how you made use of, what seems to be, switching perspectives for the different rooms on the ship. For example, the camera is the is oriented on the south side so that we see the north wall of the ship is then change in the crop and cryo room so that the camera is now on the west wall looking east. At least, that's what I'm assuming the set is given that those doors were right next to each other and the rooms themselves where rather wide hallways.
Yes that is exactly what I was going for, I'm glad you liked it!
It's a great way to make use of limited space, which is obviously a common theme throughout all aspects of GB development. Btw, I saw you posted a tutorial for GB music on YT - that's a foreign field for me (as you might have noticed with the lack of sounds in "JamBoy") so I'm happy to see that teaching available!
Excellent work! I love the graphics and music! I'd love to see this as a full game. I got a little confused making my way around the ship - the exit to get onto the planet could be a bit more obvious. Love the chilled and exploratory nature and the variety with the piloting section!
Completely agree with you, the ship is badly designed. But I'm gad you enjoyed the art and music!
This is really cool! Big idea, I'd love to play a full version!
Space exploration combined with botany and possibly survival given the fuel mechanic, very appealing.
Also appreciate the Learn More button, very helpful idea!
Sadly I almost quit before actually getting to fly at first, I didn't realize you could only enter the chair if you stood under it, and since there was another computer in the room with the map I assumed it was the terminal the instructions referred to, and then was a bit confused at why I couldn't change anything in the map.
Also still not 100% about whether or not you can get out anywhere in the asteroid belt area? There are all the arrows pointing to the center (good idea btw, getting too lost in space could be frustrating, and it was helpful for the broken ice cream machine station) but I didn't find a port anywhere.
(Also there's a typo when you go to plant a seed, it asks if I woud rather than would)
Hope you keep working on it!
Thank you for playing, I'm glad you thought the idea was cool. I know it is incomplete and would probably be frustrating.
I will make sure in the full game I redesign the ship for clarity and have a tutorial built in to help the player learn what is happening.
There is no port in the asteroid belt, I will try and think of a way to tell the player if there is a port in the current map, or make the asteroids useful for something else.
(Thank you for finding the typo!)
I definitely want to make this into something, I've been thinking about space games for a long time, I just can't figure out the real core of the game.
Amazing artwork and music! There's a real atmosphere going on, and the controls feel natural. Let's cryo-sleep right to the feature-complete release :-)
Haha, thank you for playing! I'm glad there is an atmosphere, that is normally the hardest part for me.
Can't wait to see the rest of this game if development continues! There are great space exploration vibes in !!
So glad you like the vibes!
