Eshkere!
Super interesting! I found myself playing this a lot more than I expected
Really simple and fun!! Movement to platforms felt snappy and jicy and satisfying! Great job!
I like the movement mechanics, but it can be really unforgiving with how much time you have to find an enemy before you lose, especially since it felt like that was mostly based on RNG.
I'm also not really sure what the black diamond (not the cursoe) in the background was? I kept moving towards it but it never got closer for whatever reason.
I really like how dynamic the game feels, and the effects are really good.
Great job! :)
In the beggining, I don't how to find the yellow sphere, until I read the the introduction, then I started to enjoy it, the slow motion and the cut sfx are very satisfying.
And this game reminds me of a game called FOTONICA.
Ok now ive understood. I had to click with the left mouse. Gj for the game, pretty cool ^^
It's a great game gameplay wise, although I wish you had more time or could collect time of sorts to make it easier.
Didn't understood at start, but then realised how to play and it was fun! But this game is more chill for me. But this is not bad.
I found slashing the yellow orbs to be somewhat satisfying. took me forever to figure out what i was actually being asked to do. After realizing it was click with extreme precision on very very miniature tiny little targets at a speed faster than seemed possible... well, I think I'm definitely not the target audience here. Biggest thing though is I wish there was some indicator where the target was when you're facing the wrong way. Design wise I'm not sure what the advantage of having the platforms be so small is? Like, they could be bigger targets since the actual physics of a person standing on them doesn't matter. I definitely can see how zipping around between platforms could be super fun though!
Thanks for trying it out, even though it's not your genre!
An always visible indicator, even when the target is off screen is a great idea!
Design wise, the concept for the whole game was speed and precision, hence the tiny platforms, but yeah, I agree that the platforms might be unnecessarily tiny.
Also, I don't know if you were playing with the sound on, with headphones, but the game has directional audio, so when a new target spawns in, it makes a sound, and you can get a pretty decent guess on what direction it's in by that sound.
oh yeah, I didn't have headphones and was listening to something else at the same time, so that's for sure my bad for not noticing it. there was a time I was really into starcraft 2 that I would've been all about this as a cool way to build mouse skills :)
The gameplay is very simple, yet it works flawlessly and is really fun to play ! I struggled for a while to do good, but at some point I got in the flow ! I got to 24 targets \o/
The only detail that is a bit annoying is the slowing animation when you break a target, which is too long, takes away your control and is a bit stressful, because I lost at least once during it.
Anyway, great job, that was really fun !
\o/ 24 targets is awesome!
Glad you liked the game! Sorry to hear that the slowdown-slash part was annoying :(
Neon Snake looks great, and I'm surely play and rate it, one I get to a Windows machine today!
The chromatic aberration effect when you move looks really good! The concept is original and it's fun to try to get a good score.
Super satisfying game to play.
I started out by questioning how I would even be fast enough to build a combo.
Then after a while when I managed to build a 10+ combo it felt so good!
Also, the effect when you zoom to a platform, very cool!
The movement alone is very juicey, it feels nice just to move around. I also like the minimalist art style.
I think it's interesting game, but I kept dying within 3-4 platforms. I don't know what exactly I'm doing wrong, as I'm following the instructions and moving towards the black diamond. I'm using Firefox to run the game if that's any help.
You're probably running out of time. The red bar at the top of the screen represents how long you have to reach the target, if it runs out then it's game over. I checked the game on Firefox, and seemed to work as intended.
Thanks for trying it out, nonetheless!
Very interesting! I was able to figure out what to do relatively quickly but I feel some people could get confused. I liked the minimalistic and somewhat trippy visuals as well. One thing I would suggest is to use a sphere cast instead of a ray cast (I use unity, I don't know what your engine equivalent would be) as you need to be very precise when moving - which can be unsatisfying, barely missing the platform. Cool game!
Thanks!
Precise input is a major part of the game, but yeah, a well tuned spherecast would be more forgiving without, though. In hindsight, I would've put button prompts into the game to make it less confusing on what to do, at least for the first couple of actions that you do.
very cool entry. Its chilling and pretty fun.
I'd like to have some background music.
But very nice game. great work!
pretty fun, i think it should automatically attack though cuz i was confused when getting to the right platform
Thanks! There is only going from platform to platform and attacking the target as interactions in the game, so I wanted both of them to require input from the player and be satisfying, hence the need to manually attack when you reach the platform.
makes sense
Very well executed idea, and interesting too. Feels very fluid. Good job!
