Thanks! You made an amazing game, too!

Really nicely made little platformer story - well do on making a whole experience with best score and ending. The musi was the most standout feature purrfect choice for the feel of the game.

Developer

Thanks for the comment! I'm glad that you liked the music I used for this game.

Super cute platformer with great level design. My son and I loved playing it. Good job!

Developer

You had your son play this game? Awesome!

Submitted(+1)

He's one of my favorite playtesters! He saw me checking out your game and wanted to try it out as well. It's definitely a good sign if he's into it!

Nice and nice game. I would only recommend making the control still on "WASD".

Developer

If I started working on the game earlier, I would've had more time and implemented what you've mentioned along with other features (like overriding the Shift keys to make the player run instead of jump, volume control, leaderboard, etc.). Unfortunately, I was occupied with other things within the several days since the jam started, so this is what I came up with. 😿

It's okay. I understand. I had the same situation myself :)

I'm overwhelmed by how cute snowball is! I also checked out A Spooky Cat Venture and Games Kitties Play
Great games.

Developer

You checked out those games? Cool! I hope you had a great time playing them! I'm planning on having Snowball and the ghost-hunting cat Max appear more in my future games if possible.

Submitted

I'd love to work on those games sometime.

Fun game! The level design is very strong and I had fun playing it. I would like to see the controls of the cat improved. It is hard to explain but it feels like the cat accelerates too quickly and I also found it hard to control in the air. I would also like to see more animations and particles to keep everything engaging. I really liked the cloud level and the little bit of story at the end. Keep it up :)

Developer

Thanks for the comment! I'll see what I can do to improve the player's speed if I were to update the game in the future.

good game. Only thing i wished if the movement of the cat was a little different. Just didnt feel like i was a cat moving around. Would have been great to have that tight precision platform feel.  Good job on the game.

Developer

I made the game based off of the way I've played Mario games when I grew up, which usually had me holding down the dash button or tilting the control stick all the way towards one direction. XP Perhaps I'll slow down the player's movements if I were to update the game in the future.

This was really cute and the levels were all well designed. I liked that we even got a little cutscene at the end when you won. Nice variety in the types of platforms as well. Felt like you got the best parts of a good mario game and managed to pull them all off! I really enjoyed this one and it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside (based off of your real cats, perhaps?)! Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the comment! You're right about me making this game based off of the Mario games, which were my favorite games I've played when I grew up! :D

I once bought a "Cat Game" from nintendo e shop for a few cents. This was better than that payed game! 😅 Not sure how the theme applies though? Bcuz some of the platforms fall/crumble I guess?

Developer (1 edit)

The crumbling and falling platforms were the first things I thought of when the jam's theme was revealed. I also wanted to use the characters from the previous games I've made, so this was the result.

Cute little game you have here, nice music, and the visuals are decent. However, the controls are way to fast, especially for the smaller sprite of the cat. Other than that, great game.

Developer

Thanks for the comment! I wanted to have the player run whenever they held the LShift or the RShift key, but due to lack of time, I couldn't find a way to override GDevelop's default platformer controls. I'm not sure why GDevelop made it so that the player would jump whenever either of the Shift keys are held.

Submitted

Yeah, it's weird they made it like that. Also, i believe you can go into the extension behaviours itself, and edit it yourself.
