This is a fun, unique take on the theme! I loved your art style in this and I think it worked very well to sell the idea of this game. As others mentioned, a tutorial would be a must, and I also felt a bit punished by the timer until I figured things out. My favorite part was the unique descriptions for each monster in the book. I really loved that.
Can't wait to see what you do in the next round!
Love the art and the overall concept! Lots of small details in there that work well together, as well as a nicely sized map where there's a purpose for each location. Personally I would've liked an un-timed version to really take in everything, at least at first, so I could get my bearings. But besides that, the detail and polish put into this entry are all fantastic!
This is a fun concept that was well executed with great art.
The art looks amazing. I like how every little detail has a effect or a animation. The plant looks so cool when its growing. I didnt find the second key, but nonetheless I got 8 points. This is a good entry :)
A clever little idea! Had fun with this one. The art style is REALLY well done.
As others have mentioned, a tutorial would be nice. Took me a bit to figure out what I was doing. Managed to get 3 points (and found the 2nd key!)
You have so many subtle polish elements and it feels really good. The particles on walking. The spatial audio once you get the green liquid. Some really nice juice in there.
Overall a solid entry. Great job!
As others mentioned a tutorial would help, but I LOVE your art style. This game looks so good!
I managed to grow a monster and I got 3 points for it at the end of the game. I can't work out where the second key is and don't feel like there is enough time to fully explore the game, I think the timer would be better if it wasn't there at least until I grasp the game or have some way of replenishing the time. The art is fantastic though, I like how the plant grows and I'm a big fan of pixel art. I also like being able to pick up and drop stuff too
I didn't really get it sorry, I tried a few times and did water some stuff and get a different item but honestly felt a bit lost. I did notice the cool book with monsters and stats and that was pretty nice and helped with the more is more aspect. Maybe a gentler start with a rolling tutorial and some dumbed down challenges would have helped people like me get the idea :)
Yeah, I ran out of time to make a tutorial, but that definitely would’ve helped.
