As others have said this really reminds me of one of those arcade games with the gun controllers that always got broken. Good thing you can't break this one! I appreciate you giving the ability to quickly replay the level after completing it. It was fun to replay and get 100% accuracy. Can't forget the voice clips that play after every section too! Really added some extra life to the game. Overall extremely impressive game!

 (Also, rat buddies!!)

I finished the game and loved the inspirations behind it. Your game is a ton of fun. and I really hope you continue development because it's fantastic! Here are a few suggestions to make it even better: The bullet text was a bit cut off and perhaps an image of the six bullets would look nicer. Being able to adjust the story text scroll speed with the left and right mouse buttons would be great. Headshots could one-hit kill rats, and maybe add some interactive background elements just for fun when not busy killing rats. Great job on this one!

Felt like a fun little trip to my childhood playing games like these in the arcade. I hope we get to see more of it. Well done.

That really was the inspiration for this game. I was watching a video on House of the Dead 2's terrible voice over acting and I remembered how much fun I had playing these in the arcade as a kid. Glad you got to tap into that as well. I am thinking of continuing with this project, so you never know :) Thanks for playing!

Great story with very cool visuals! This type of shooting game gives me a lot of nostalgia. The voiceover in the cutscene is a little bit too muffled and hard to understand.

Still, a great game, well done!

Developer

I'm glad I tapped into that nostalgia for you, I really had a lot of fun making this even though I know it is far from perfect. Thank you for taking the time to play my game and for the feedback!

Really cool! I love the dithering effect, and the PSX style shader on the rats. The voice acting was a nice touch.

From one 3D dev to another, I know how much work went into this, especially the lighting and shader stuff.

As other people said, the exposition crawl at the beginning is too long / slow. It would be cool if there was a button you could use to fast-forward through it.

Appreciate the feedback. That opening crawl does definitely need shortening and the fast forward button is a great idea. I had plans to really go to town with the PSX shaders.  Like so many things, I just ran out of time. Thanks for playing my dude!

Of course, I had fun! It reminded me of those old arcade cabinets

The intro scene took a bit too long, the black screen took forever.

Very old school gameplay I like it, I had fun.

Yeah it does go on far too long, you're right. I wanted to hammer down that it was a story round and I had to make up for such a short level somehow haha. Glad you enjoyed it!

The vibes are immaculate in here. Great job! For an on-the-rails-shooter, it was a little easy, but I can only imagine the length of time it takes to set up each scene.  I can't wait for the sequel.
