Really appreciate how you took your ongoing game in to this realm!  It felt nice and responsive and any times I got hit didn't seem unfair.

Developer

same with you hehe! Great work on sticking with the "fireballs baby!" guy! Feels right, doesn't it?

Yep, wanted to stay away from the brutal harshness of the original Leaper.

I believe you already found it, but you can revisit my live stream thoughts here:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1436793193

I have to admit I'm a bit jealous. I also took one of my earlier characters and tried to nod to Leaper, but I think my nod was far too subtle. You captured the Leaper essence within Bee Keeper's world much better than I did in Lasso's.

If you do keep working on Bee Keeper as a long-term project (which I hope you do because it seems like it would be an amazing mini-metroidvania with such a unique aesthetic) then I would seriously consider meeting in the middle on the Keeper's movement speed and weight. A good balance of the original and the Leaper version would feel amazing! Great work.

haha thanks for taking the time to draft another amazing comment! And as always, your support on my work.

I did get to see your stream afterwards, thanks for the effort, the comments and timestamp!

I am seriously considering your comment, to transform the game a bit more towards player freedom seeing your response hehe.

I was happy to see you using Lasso for this challenge, it felt nice going through submissions and seeing the friendly horns of a bull stuck upside down on the ceiling, with the targeting box enticing me to lasso my way out.

Fantastic blend between your game form previous rounds and Leaper. Everything was very well done.

Developer

thank you for saying so! I am happy how it came out, but as you said, more could be done :)

the elephant goblin natives were annoyingly funny aha

Developer(+1)

they were DYING for a swim!

The reflection in the water is really cool. I feel like the water may have moved too slowly though; it did not feel like much of a threat.

The art style is amazing, and I liked that the little bees were still flying around.

Developer(+1)

the library is big, it takes a while to fill :D

Just wanted it to be an excuse so you would move quickly and not notice any bugs of standing still in the air while the platform moved beneath your feet hehe.

I hope it was a ... beeutiful experience

This was fun! I enjoyed the platforming while collecting the bees and powerups, and the atmosphere you created with the background and music was really nice. I also really liked the animation of getting hit :)

Developer(+1)

please do check Aurora for the music! Her work is great, and she is a great person, reach out if you like her work!

And of course I am here for the animations, stick around!

This was a pretty good game,  however there's a bug where you don't fall down when you're standing still, and it makes the game a lot easier. Also the enemies don't really feel that hard, one of them actually helped me by knocking me  up a bunch. But overall I still love the polish you've put in here, and the sound effects and music still make it a fun experience.

Developer

Yes it's true I couldn't figure how to fix it even after hours of work. I used a state machine and the idle state just didn't want to fall when the ground disappeared.

Hehe, yeah the goblins were made to just add quirkiness with the sound effects and dropping from the sky to swim!

They did to me too when I was testing found it the nice random touch. Thanks for playing!

The bad - character doesn't fall down holes when stand still, for me it wasn't very challenging, final page has a wrap screen but it doesn't go to the edge of the layout

The good - artwork is amazing, character movement feels right, really like how you got water rising, native enemies are cool especially how they knock you backwards and I like seeing the beekeeper again

Developer(+1)

Yeah I couldn't figure how to solve that issue. Tried it for hours…

Oh my God I completely forgot about the last level! it was the sound book submission from before just linked it there and did they remember to deactivate the wrapping! Oops!

Thank you for checking it out! Yeah my aim was not to make it too difficult, more like quirky with the goblins. Wanted to have a bear and other forest creatures but you know, time.

Glad you enjoy the beekeeper!

I love how you kept some of the elements from your previous games, also I see we had the same idea with the rising water level :D
Cool submission!

Developer

Indeed!  XD

but I couldn't figure out infinite scrolling hehe…

thanks for playing!
