The fluidity with the game transitioning from death to another round was really slick and made everything feel so polished. Love the style and the music. It all fit together really well and made for an engaging experience. Well done.

I had a lot of fun on this one even though it took me some time to get the hang of it. The difficulty curve starts out steep but once I got the hang of it, it wasn't too bad. Great alternative take on the game.

Developer

hey! thanks for playing :)

i completely understand about the controls - they were a pain!

This made me want to keep playing! I was playing with the mouse and the strategy that worked best for me was to keep the cursor behind the character, and use small, fast clicks to maneuver and long clicks to rush past obstacles. I also liked the art style and how time slows down when you hold the click :)

Developer

that makes me so happy to hear!! <3

I really like the simplicity and the retro style of the art!

The little effects were nice as well. Because the spikes and arrows were a bit chunky, while it did add to the whole style, compared with the small screen size, it was a bit difficult to traverse. Still great work on this chunky game!

The bad - portrait orientation would work really well on a mobile phone but not so good on a laptop. The background is black and it makes it hard to tell the boundary to your game as black is added to the sides on horizontal screens

The good - The pixel art is really stylish and I like it a lot, love the frog and all his special effects, and all the spikes and arrows look really good, the controls are also great, the music too and I like how you collect the letters and fit through the gaps. This is a really cool game, especially so for a mobile phone I can imagine

I really like the aesthetic you have here, and that death transition is pretty  cool.  The controls are really confusing, I didn't exactly understand them at first, I still kind of don't, so I think you probably should add some more visual cues with the controls or even maybe a tutorial. Just my opinion though.

Developer

thanks for playing!!

however, im sorry you had a rough time with the controls :/

(i did too haha)

basically, you press down - that charges your jump (the power is represented by the brightness of the frog)

while youre holding down, you can swipe to change your launch direction

then you release, which applies your hold down time to a impulse (causing you to jump)

Love the direction you went in!

Developer

happy to hear ^-^

I love the cute frog sprite and the awesome screen transition!
My only problem is that I felt the controls are a bit hard to use, I wish they are more responsive.
Great submission overall!

Developer

glad you liked it <3

i definetly had a rough time with the controls haha
