Nice game. The control are so simple to grasp and master but the game get very hard too quickly. Also, It would be nice if there was a tutorial to explain the effect of each tower type on each enemy type since I couldn't infer it myself from observation (maybe bcz I'm stupid). Anyway, it was fun even while I was getting rekt. Well done.

The art is really cool, it makes things feel chaotic in a good way!
In other shameless news, if you are interested in a puzzle game you can check out what we worked on.
Good idea! Preventing the player from staying at the same location, switching spots in general is satisfaying!
This game is definitely one of the better games in the jam.
The level design is nice, and the "one tower defense" mechanic is quite polished. There's quite a variety of monsters but they all feel balanced!
My favourite is the 3rd dark tower which I felt is the coolest one.
Good job guys this is awesome.

Hey, we made a GMTK game too. Check it out!
Satisfying animations. Satisfying to figure out which tower was the right tool for the job. Could have used a bit more initial explanation on what the tower types do. Also didn't realize that Can report that I had the waves stop spawning. It was at the end of wave 8 the second time.
I tried to make it more natural by giving new enemy types one at a time, so giving the player time to discover them and their interactions with the enemies, but feedback is telling me i didn't do a good job at a organic tutorial, haha! Gotta see what i can do next time, as i generally dislike tutorials.
Wave 7 is the only wave where enemies come exclusively from the right. The upper spawner has some code sheananigans that checks if there are enemies left and reduces the countdown for the next wave, but the right one is really wonky, as it was added late in development and needed to be adapted. my bad!
i need to do a master script that just says what spawns from what spawner and leave it at that.
Thanks for playing the game, wanderingshadow!
Amazing submission! One of the best tried so far. Well balanced as well
Really good game that removes the tedium of passive waiting of traditional TD games and instead forces you to be active and focused all the time. Looks great, difficulty on point and with later mechanics like flying enemies or the mortar really secures the fun factor of the whole thing.
One of the best I've tested during this jam. Really good work!
love the graphics and the animation! cool concept and a nice take on the theme!
I actually kinda like the idea of switching tower types, this changes the genre from slightly passive to a more active gameplay. There's one type of enemy that needed two different tower types to eliminate, I think that plays nicely with the mechanics you have and that's something you should build upon if ever you're thinking of expanding this ! Like units with layers of armour you'll need to strip away with different attacks.
Hey, thanks a lot!!!
Switching and avoiding artillery was the whole thing to make it more active, i'm glad you noticed it, hehe
I had one more i wanted to add, but sadly couldn't! A horseman that would charge until you made any kind of damage to it. Of course, in masse it would be hard to stop, so it would have to be bomb tower to dehorse, and then death glare tower to kill the dehorsed soldier. Fun idea!
and OH MAN. That's actually a fantastic idea. Gotta add more of those when the jam ends!!
thanks again for the review!!
Really cool idea and great art
but it sounds familiar(yours is probably better)

Cool and well implemented! I really liked how moving the tower itself becomes significant due to the artillery. The powers of the different towers and their advantages aren't very clear to the player, though, and in addition, I think it would be nice to add some "beam" effects where you could shot a straight line which would hit several parts of the enemy track
I haven't submitted anything myself, but a friend of mine submitted Dis/Assemble which I think has some cool potential. You can try it here https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/464022
=)
It's a very good game! I like the way you have to handle the different types of enemies according to their weaknesses. The art is top notch too.
For the negative : I'm not a big fan of how the "weapon" switch works (I would maybe prefer only one button but it's just me) and I think you're too quickly overwhelmed.
Other than that, great game as I said.
Fun game and well executed! :) My friend actually made a similar concept but didnt get to finish.
Very fun game, the visuals and animations are amazing. Sound is sometimes too loud. Moving the tower feels good. The fire attack doesn't feel that good in my opinion, as from what I saw it only slows enemies down. Compared to the sniper, which kills soldiers in one hit and the bomb which is the most satisfying tower.
Great idea ! The only bad point I found is that ennemies life bar is pretty hard to read, else it's a perfect for me ^^
Really liked those colors and art. Could be a great phone game. Good job!
