How does your game fit the theme?
The player must choose between shooting and steering. If they take their hands off the wheel to shoot, the car will keep heading towards potential threats and any bumps will send you out of control!

Really nice execution. Great job!
Hey, this was really fun. I definitely enjoyed it. My only suggestion would be to force the player to shoot a whole bullet before gaining control of the car. You could spam left click and subvert the control issue for the most part. Either way, this is actually a good game. Maybe worth pursuing.
Thanks for the feedback and bug report! I have already started cleaning up my frantic game jam project file so I can move forward and add/fix things.
Oh god, yea. I gotta untangle a web of spaghetti too ~_~. My game architecture is a mess.
This was fun! The controls were a bit difficult - I might recommend making the steering just a bit more forgiving. But a very clever concept either way!
How do you mean 'more forgiving'? Thanks for the feedback!
Maybe I just didn't play long enough to get used to the controls, but it often felt like the car was so difficult to steer that once you started to lose control you couldn't really get it back.
That was quite fun! I kept telling myself: "don't shoot, just drive"!
but I kept shooting anyway!
Hey, great concept! With small adjustments in the control the experience would improve a lot. I thought the car's response to the mouse is a little slow. Congrats! <3
Thanks for the feedback!
Knew I'd enjoy this one just from the thumbnail and title. Really interesting idea and nails the theme. Nice one.

This is rather good. Maybe tweak the movement controls a little. Also the game really needs more impact when it comes to police cars taking damage . Some more explosions or visual feedback would be nice .Still, the pixel art was damn nice and it's rather addictive. Good game overall :)
Thanks for the feedback!
the plane stole the show. haha. pretty fun game
Controls took a bit of getting used to but had fun once I figure them out :)
I think the game needs more explosions though, exploding police cars would be more fun to see than just having them catch fire
Completely agree. That was right at the top of my list of features I didn't have time to add. Thanks for the feedback!
Nice game! The art is cool. Well done.
Nice work! It took me a couple of deaths to figure out how to accelerate/decelerate, but once I got the hang of that it was a fun game. The plane flying the busted banner is a great touch.
What would have helped with your confusion? In game how-to/tutorial? Thanks for the feedback!
Just a mention in the notes that it was for acceleration and braking too... I thought it was one of those games where you only steer on one axis.
It was fun once I got used to the mechanics! I liked all the small details you added, good stuff!
That's a fun idea. It's just a bit too difficult for my liking. Maybe the car can drive more in a straight line when I'm not steering. Also, I'm quite curious how you made the rolling over distance counter?
The car should steer straight until you hit a pothole, another car, or a enemy bullet. For the counter, I made 6 columns of sprites 0-9 and applied a sprite mask the height of one digit. Then I modified their position based on the time playing the level with a mod (%) to wrap them around. Very similar to how scrolling repeating backgrounds are often done, but vertically.
Thanks for the explanation. I guess I didn't explain my criticism all that well. When you're shooting you move the mouse over the enemy car, if you then stop shooting the car will suddenly change direction (since the mouse is not overhead). So, the player has to return the mouse to the car before they can stop shooting. Maybe you can solve this by resetting the mouse cursor to the position of the car. You will need to do some trickery for that, since operating systems don't allow a program to move the cursor.
I appreciate the feedback! I didn't have time to try out control variations like that during the jam, but I'll definitely give it a try and see how it plays.
Nice game and very good idea. I like the visual art. Good job, keep creating games!

I really like the small little touches you gave this game like th banner saying busted when you die. Overall this is a nice game which i really enjoyed playing!
Great fun! Having to make a choice between move and shoot feels really natural yet requires skill to master
Nice game! Presentation is great.
Dude this game is extremely fun. Great job and love the art too!
