Really interesting idea. I love the idea of a game that intentionally doesn't tell you how to operate it. In that way, it's a little like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. Love a good chaotic game.

How does your game fit the theme?
My game takes all conventional controls of a Defence game and puts it into a chaotic virtual remote control with limited explanation, which makes you lose control of the game very quickly.

Nice idea, and very well executed one! Visuals and sounds are pretty good as well!
PS: I will be tweeting about this game, and some other games I will play from the jam: https://twitter.com/TheAntonSem/status/1284852745510563840
BIG fan of the presentation. The control feels so tactile. Love the idea and the presentation
Really fun game. It is hard in the beginning but satisfying when you start learning the controls. Cool idea that is well executed :)
At first it is so frustrating, but i then you kind of get used to the controls and it is awesome!
Well done! :D
Holy crap, this was so unintuitive to play and I loved it. It reminds me of "Please, Don't Touch Anything," with the way I had to figure out what each button did as I was playing. I ended up failing horribly on my first go, but I got pretty far on the second. I think if you were to expand this game, you could have randomly generated controls that you have to figure out each time.
My only complaints are that near the beginning, there are several moments of downtime, so I think the enemy spawn rate should be faster if there are no enemies on screen. Also, it got kinda annoying how I would randomly be forced to turn the key or input a code when I try to push a switch. I think rather than having the controller lock up randomly the moment you push a switch, it should lock up at a random amount of time, regardless of whether you're pushing a switch or not, since it's more frustrating if the controls only lock up when you're pushing a switch. Also maybe make the display flash red when it locks up? Idk, these are just suggestions. I had a lot of fun, though!
Thanks a lot for your review, I thought making the errors negate the button press would cause a more controless feeling, but I understand why its frustrating and I'll probably think it over again. I made the spawntime in the beginning espacially low in order to help players who havent memorized the controls yet. A light or anything would be a good way, next to the beeping sound, to indicate an error, thanks for that idea and for your time.
Found this to be good fun. Wave 11 was peak enjoyment; it was really satisfying to need to use every aspect of every tower. Granted I don't think I could've kept up much longer. That was a ton of work, especially with the second to left tower.
Thats similar to our idea of out of contol game=) loved it. Buuuuutoooooons!
The controller is honestly some high quality animation and sound design. What programs did you use to model and animate it? Reminds me of the terminal bomb from "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes". Feel free to check out my game https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2020/rate/696851
This is incredibly creative! I wish I had more time to kind of figure out how to somewhat use the control panel, but I loved the game! Hoping this gets top 100. Here's my game, https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2020/rate/697413 feel free to check it out:)
Really enjoyed this, quickly worked out how to control and rely on a few of the cannons but would still mess things up under pressure. Maybe add an element that randomises the controls or elements of the controller each time to really keep people on their toes, but otherwise top notch stuff!
A lovely game tower defence strategy game, although I sucked at it a lot. Reminds me of 'Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes' with the wacky button set to do everything with.
Well this was lovely. Reminiscent of such gems as Spaceteam and Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. Really nice work. I wished there was a button to summon the next wave. Especially at the beginning, I spent a lot of time waiting.
I would love to see this expanded to have a new more convoluted control machine each level, and possibly some randomization in the controls each time you play.
This is a great game thoroughly enjoyed playing and discovering what all the buttons did.
