A well made submission, it's small and simple, but pretty fun to play. Well done.

Really cool idea and really i like the main character. I was so frustrated when it was over so quickly.      If you have the motivation you should keep polishing this game.  Congrats on successfully submitting a game to the jam and I hope you learned a lot of new gamedev skills.  Please check out my game when you have free time :D

I like the commitment to your aesthetic! I will say that "Press Any Button" didn't work for me until I reset the cartridge. I also thought something was broken in the intro sequence since it took so long for my Mamabot to say anything. I would be a bit more explicit about the controls -- given that they are simple, they could be taken care of on the title screen or in the text field under the embedded game.

I would definitely add more levels to make the difficulty curve a bit less steep. I ended up skipping the last level, and I wished there had been more to play after it.

Over all, though, great job!

Nice idea, Although I DO think it could have used 1-2 more levels and being a bit harder. Overall 3/5.

Not bad man. The intro made my girlfriend go "awwww". Very cute. Me and my son!

Developer

Ha! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much!

I liked a lot the concept of the game as well the art style!  The colliders is the only thing I think that gets in the way of the experience. Overall, very good game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Enjoyed it! Maybe the collisions could be a bit more lenient, as I couldn't beat the last level. At least there was a skip level button, which is really a good idea for game jam games.

Developer

Thanks! I'll take that into consideration. I might do a post-jam tune-up just for little issues like that!

Submitted(+1)

For a certain level I had a few issues. But I was really grateful for the X to skip a level button that was there. The cutscene was a really nice touch! Great game! One thing I would say is when it says "press any button" it doesn't work? But then I realized (by clicking on the side) that this "emulator" works with z,x,c and v. Really unique look and I enjoyed it :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked it!

Had some problems starting the games since it didnt react on "Any button", but on "x" and "z". Cool and simple concept and challenging levels that required some thinking.

Developer

I'm glad you liked it once you got past that opening. I have to remember for future jams that not everyone is familiar with the Pico-8 button layout haha!

It was damn fun and was quite challenging. The art was simple and very effective. I was seriously invested in trying to land the character where I needed him to. I felt that the third level was a little too hard though. Maybe increase the amount of time at which the player is still flying for that level. Still, this is a really good game overall. Nice job :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the third level was what inspired me to add the 'skip level' button option haha! I may have to play with its placement.

Nice work! I like the concept :)

The last level required a bit too much precision in my opinion, took me way too many tries to get through it. I feel like the collision on the spikes could be shrunk a tiny amount.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for the feedback. If I continue work on this game I'll definitely try that out.

Very fun and original. Nice job!

Thanks for playing!

very cute, and very fun :D

Thank you!

Nice Job.  Very cute.  I especially liked the ability to just skip levels, very nice piece of accommodating design.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The idea came when I was going to make a debugging function to skip through levels because the second level was kicking my ass whenever I wanted to check things were working on later levels. Then I realized it could be a great mechanic in the game, especially as a jam game. I could relax knowing that even if a level wasn't perfectly play-tested, it wouldn't totally eliminate player momentum. Thanks again for playing!

Really fun simple game, even though I had a hard time finishing the final level! I liked it!

Developer

I'm happy you liked it! And I totally feel you with that last level. I almost changed it because it frustrated me but ended up deciding to leave it in. Celeste is my favorite game of all time so I tend to lean towards 'punishing levels' when I think of them. i still sometimes regret it when testing the game though haha

Super cute! Simple but solid and nicely-implemented. Great work :)

Developer

Thank you!

Nice lil game. I too was a bit confused during the cutscene until I figured out you had to press x. Simple mechanics and a rising difficulty (the last level was pretty tough), great job! The respawn time was maybe a bit too quick, I often died because I was still holding the buttons.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! If I put more time into the game, I'll definitely take this into account. I'm glad you liked it!

Fun for its short length. The theme of the game really fits the theme of the jam. It wasn't clear what to do during the starting cutscene (I figured it out, but it would be better if I didn't need to).

Developer

I'm glad you liked it and thanks for that feedback too!

Nice game, I really liked the idea. Hard to pass level 4 though. :)

Glad you enjoyed it!
