The "player is out of control" idea is handled well, as you are timed as to when you no longer have control. However, I would say that maybe the black hole (or end objective) could have a larger collision detection/hit circle because I found myself often getting very close to the circumference but missing it by an inch. Besides from that it was a lot of fun! :)
thanks for playing :)
i didn't want to make it too easy, but maybe the hitbox can be clearer
This was a lot of fun! It nicely walked the line of needing to be precise enough so that when you got it, you felt awesome, but when you missed you didn't feel frustrated.
ty! i'm glad you liked it
Finished all levels! The game was fun and fluent. The atmosphere was great. I liked it!
thank you for your kind review, i'm glad you had fun with it
very addicting game good job check my game https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2020/rate/696388
I really like the idea of this one, but I think the mechanics need some more refinement. Personally I would have preferred the thruster input to be reversed so the arrow keys move you in the direction you press. And I think the goal post could have been a bit bigger. But the polish is pretty well done, the sprites are good, the particles are great, and the sound effects are really charming (loved hearing the little yeah haha). All in all, good work, the game certainly has potential!
Thanks for the feedback!
I started with the controls not-inverted, but felt like it gave opportunity to more funny moments like "aww man i forgot!" which i actually saw on streams :)
Nice physics game, I had fun beating it! The gameplay takes a minute to grasp but it quickly became pleasant and I kept trying again to beat the levels. Only the presentation is a bit lacking, and the win/lose sound effects are cute :D
Good job on this entry!
Classic start to great game. I can see this spawning into various ideas. I think my favorite right now is adding enemies and making it into a choose your rail shooter game. Where you start off on a direction and you must protect your ship as it drifts towards the blackhole. Either way really lovely mechanic.
Interesting idea! Definitely simulates how difficult it is to control in orbit spacecraft from Earth.
Good idea! The controls are nice and the gravity mechanic is very cool! I would just add an entering the black hole animation.Well done!
This is really fun. There's definitely scope to expand this idea if you wanted to!
Found this link in RiotTaver's stream so decided to check it out
I gave this ratings because this was one of my favorite jam puzzle games because you made it challenging but also relaxing.
Good job the controls were easy to understand and mastering them wasnt too bad. I had trouble on lvl 6 but admire that I didn't get that frustrated and changed up my strategy and was able to beat the game
Well done puzzle games are hard in my eyes but you did well
Very interesting use of the theme! At first its hard to control but then you really get the hang of it! Maybe a future build could have bigger hitboxes for the finish portals
Pretty cool idea. It would be cool if the spaceship actually entered the black hole, instead of just passing through it. But there were some cool little puzzle-y moments in there.
Nice job! It's a nice simple idea well executed. Well done! :D
Love this idea!
Really fun idea, decent execution.
I liked the idea of the black hole... really nice to see some scientific things on here...
super cool
loved this. Didn't think I'd play a game doing gravity assists today. With some polish, refined controls and levels (you can skip most of the gravity assist stuff by just going around the outside) this could be even better.
Good idea, very fun, like the particles and controls are intuitive. Could use more content but that's a classic jam problem. Good job!
