How does your game fit the theme?
The game gets faster and your character becomes harder to control as the Madness gauge increases (whenever you are hit). You need to lose some control to get through most levels though.

Amazing game! This has wonderful athletics and feels really polished!

First of all the soundtrack is great. And the graphics are very nice, too. I love the soundwave effect.

And the gameplay mechanic is also very interesting. A cool concept that you loose control the more damage you get. But that you also need to take damage to get further is a cool twist.

But I think the later levels where more precise platforming is required doesn't fit this kind of game and they feel more frustrating whereas the earlier levels where really fun!

Nice Job !

Interesting idea, it sets up a sliding risk-reward scale with how much damage you want to take. The crisp style helps keep the levels looking great, even at high speed!

Very fun game, the only thing that holds this back is the lack of analog movement, but thats not your fault. Good job!

Really cool! Love the involvement of the music. Good job!!!

This is such a cool concept! This is one of the few games I've seen that intentionally makes the player hard to control that does it in a way that's still fun to play. Great job!

Amazingly polished for a jam game. Really nice!

Level 12 is where it got too difficult for me to continue, but the game's got a really interesting premise. With better, more forgiving level design, as well as some polished visuals, this could be something really special.

I loved this one so much! I really love the idea! The music choice is also amazing! It is hard, but not too hard, and I really love the fact that at points you have to be hit by some music to complete the level! The effect around the mushrooms is also very nice! I didn't find any problems with the game. No glitches, no problems with it, nothing really! I just simply enjoyed it! Good job man, you really deserve to be in Mark's video!

Very challenging, but I’m sure with a bit of difficulty tuning this will turn out great! I would recommend decreasing the slipperiness of the controls, perhaps less so in mid-air, but much more so on the ground. Well done all around!

Really nice idea and great game. One of my favorites so far, even though it's pretty hard sometimes.

I really like the idea, well done. Game looks great as well!

Really loved the idea of the Character having more mobility the lower hp he has, it really gave me the decision of taking a hit or not.

Amazing Pixel Art and game feel, especially those mushrooms dancing to the music :D

Tough one - some of those jumps are really hard to make, and I often found myself *on* the exit, trying to get in... and dying D:!

But got to the end, in the end. Whew! Though I gotta say, I'd not have lasted more levels than that. The character is SO slippery!

Developer

Wow, congratulations on making it to the end, I don't think many people have managed that! We did mess up the difficulty curve, I think that's the game's biggest weakness. Thanks a lot for playing!

I fully admit some levels I only managed through dumb luck, like the one that starts with all the shrooms on the platforms so that you basically can't get up there with any shred of sanity. ^^

i hate this game

the title is very clever, the art is good, i love the way the animations flow with the music.

the main problem with this game is its level of difficulty and its platforming. if you gave me these same levels with any other platforming character, id be able to do it no problem. but with this guy, he's really slippery and its really hard to control him. this is due to the fact that course correction is not a thing and instead you have wildly going out of control, just in the opposite direction. its also because theres no variable height, jump forgiveness, or jump buffering. a lot of games can get away without jump forgiveness or jump buffering, but this game cant. at such high speeds, you need these features to give players a window of opportunity to jump off a platform. otherwise they only have a single frame or two to make the next jump. you cant expect your players to be able to pull that off.  Also,  not having variable jump height is a BIG SIN for platformers. It makes the character way harder to control.

also it has too many levels. actually, i only say that because its a game jam game and it is way too hard. it requires the player to remember 7 different jump heights and 7 different run speeds, and be able to switch between them at a moment's notice. this kind of thing could take weeks of fulltime training to do properly. no one has that kind of time to devote to a game jam game. thats why i think this game is too long.

anyway i think your execution is phenominal but the concept was not a good one. changing jump height is rarely a good idea in platformers, and ive only seen one in this entire game jam that pulls it off properly. i hope you dont ever make a full release of this game.
