An absolutely infuriating single-player experience: well done!

This is the kind of game that makes me want to have more than just my hands on the keyboard -- having to catch the food just killed me. Maybe consider having a small number of allowable "mistakes" for each mini-game, or an overall "customer satisfaction" slider that degrades as you fail in any mini-game: main thing to do there would be to make sure to balance it such that a player couldn't just let one game fall by the wayside and keep rolling on the strength of their performance in the others.

But with that said, y'all made an excellent game here. Great job!

Great concept! We want to try again and again and again. Maybe for some challenges, the control deserves to be more flashy, sometimes we don't understand which key it is.

Good job !

Developer(+2)

Thanks so much, we found that the game could get quite addicting whilst we were playtesting it. This is a really good sign! We're glad you enjoyed it. That's some good feedback, and if we continue to work on this game we're defintitely going to take this into account.

Very fun and manic, I like the minifames are different each time

Developer(+1)

Thanks, we wanted to add some more minigames so that the game always felt fresh, but there's only so much you can do in 48 hours! We're really glad you enjoyed it.

Submitted(+2)

This is so good!

Developer(+2)

Thanks so much, we're really glad you liked it :)

Submitted(+2)

love how all the tasks would stack up!

Developer(+2)

Thanks so much! We were really trying to go for the out of control theme in the gameplay. Great game by the way, it was a lot of fun!

Submitted(+2)

I really liked the art! I think I would have found it more engaging if the tasks were working towards a goal

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much, we're really happy with how the art turned out and we're glad you liked it. That's an interesting idea, and if we were to continue working on this we'd definitely consider it!

Submitted(+2)

Lol, it's a cute game with charming concept.I had so much fun in this game. And I can't stop playing this game. Well done.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We appreciate your feedback and glad you liked it.

I like games like this, as trying to do several things at once is something I am absolutely horrendous at! Having that pointed out by a collection of restaurant-running minigames is definitely my kind of vibe. I will say a couple of times that I swear I got the seasoning right, but didn't quite grasp the visual cue of the colour-coded letters. I place that blame on myself not paying attention, though, as I tried to play the game by memorising the keys I had to use and relying on peripheral vision. I personally find it the most rough when you get a combo like waiting tables, apple-balancing, and pan catching, as they're all minigames that basically require full attention. Whereas whenever carrot chopping came up? Breathed a sigh of relief. Nice work!

Developer(+2)

Thanks! Yes, if we had more time we would have most likely focused on balancing as certain combinations of the minigames are certainly more challenging that others. Its not just you who has had trouble with the seasoning and we have realised that we can improve on the interface to better instruct players. Currently, the colour of the 's' and 'p' on the salt and pepper grinders indicates either season (green) or don't season (red). Glad to hear you enjoyed however!

This is a really cool game! I love the pat your head and rub your tummy style game mechanics. It also has a small local co-op element as you can have multiple people on the same keyboard doing different jobs although this does make things considerably easier. All in all this is an excellent submission and definitely made me feel out of control!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, we hope that the intense feeling of being out of control is something that everyone who plays can agree on!

Submitted(+2)

Wow awesome game! I played it with my cousin, we split the tasks, and make our best time at 48s.

We really enjoy playing it, and for sure we will keep playing it. I love the pixel art style and the music. Maybe a high score will be nice.

Pd: We often lose in the sausage seasoning , we don't get it right :[

Good work!

Developer(+2)

Haha that's a smart way to play the game. We didn't intend for it to be multiplayer but a few people have said that it works well as one, so we may have to think about that in the future! We're planning on uploading a slightly improved version after the gamejam has ended, with little quality of life improvements, so keep an eye out for that if you want. It's really nice to hear that you want to keep playing our little game. Thanks so much!

Nice game!

Reminds me of the old multitask flash games :)

It looks great and it's fun, the only thing that I had problems with at first was to read the text. I think the keys should be a bit different from the text so that you can read it easier.

I think my record was 42, I was done when a game changed to a different one... That was too much for me x)

Developer(+2)

Thanks so much, it's great to see people playing our game and being able to get such high scores! The feedback is really helpful as well and we've already got a build that has little fixes such as the text being difficult to read. Once the jam is over it'll be uploaded. Thank again!

Submitted(+2)

You're welcome!

Feel free to message me when you updated the game so I can try it again :)

Submitted(+2)

Very clever concept, loved each bit of it. The art is also on point. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the compliments. We love that you loved our game :)

(+2)

Fab way of incorporating chaos in a way that doesn't detract from the player experience, and with some balancing etc after the jam it could be a real gem I think

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Glad you like it.

(+2)

Love this concept! I included it in my GMTK Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Much appreciated.

Submitted(+2)

Really nice game, I had a lot of fun playing it!

It was a bit too unforgiving, maybe you can give the player more lifes before it's game over.

Developer(+2)

Thanks! Yes we thought about that but didn't have time in the end.

Submitted(+2)

Really liked the concept ^^ made me think about another jam game but I don't remember the name :O Nice game !

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Submitted(+2)

Really liked the whole concept of multitasking, even makes sense it being on a restaurant, only problem i could think of is that sometimes the combination of multitasks gets waaaay to hard, so i feel like the game might become almost unplayable for being so hard, but it could be that i just suck at multi tasking.

Overall, really cool game, and the theme was used very well!

Developer(+2)

Thanks! Yes the restaurant is a fitting theme. It is indeed pretty hard at the moment and if we had had more time then difficulty balancing would've been our first priority.

Submitted(+2)

Woaaaah what a cool game! Got it all pumped up and alert. I like the frenzy nature of it. well done!

Spoiler: I gave you a high rating.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much, we really tried to go for that crazy nature and we're glad that it comes across well. Thank you for the rating, it's great to hear people liked our game. Great job on your game by the way, it was really fun to play!

Very fun game play. This reminds me of "Cook Serve Delicious". I couldn't seem to work out what to do with "season correctly"(S and P). I applied both salt and pepper, but still failed me sometimes.  The A&D mini-game and the table serving are alot more attention demanding than the other ones. One extra note Is that I would like to know how I died on the game over screen so that I can watch out for that in the future. Overall very nice game.

Developer(+2)

Thanks so much for the feedback! You're the first person to compare it to Cook, Serve, Delicious which we expected to happen a lot sooner haha. Someone mentioned that it would be nice for a full version to weight the games in terms of how much attention they need so you don't get screwed over by a bad combination too soon. We have the screen you lose on gain a red border on it, but it would be a good idea for a full game to include a much more obvious signal. Thanks again and well done on your game, it was really excellent!

Submitted(+2)

I had a lot of fun playing this game! My best time so far has been 43. I loved having to use my peripheral vision to keep track of everything, really fits the out of control aspect!

I also really like the art style, good job!

The only things I have to complain about is:

Sometimes the font was hard to read, For some reason, when the carrot chop was on the top right, I couldn't tell that was U and J

It becomes really impossible sometimes, having to use the arrow keys, hold E, and press U and J. Fingers just aren't long enough to do that and it feels more unfair rather than a lack of skill.

But really good job!

Developer(+1)

Congrats on getting 43 seconds! That's a really good time. We're glad that you enjoyed playing and if we were to do this game again these are definitely some things we would take into consideration. A few people have commented on the control scheme. Someone recommended trying to keep all of the games controlable from 2 set hand positions, which we really like the idea of. Thanks for the feedback and great job on your game!
