Awesome game in terms of gameplay, really well thought out in terms of gameplay, I wasnt sure how it was out of control untill I got further when I noticed how many cells there were. Upgrades werent always clear to me and couldve been more descriptive but overall an awesome project
Such a nice game to play. Nice visuals and nice sound design. It was a bit confusing to actually know what was going on with the upgrades and stuff, and it felt wrong when most of my cells went out of the screen only to never come back. But the gameplay was fun, original and pleasant. Good job!!
This was really fun! I loved the elegance of the controls and the color scheme made everything very intuitive. Also, beautifully simplistic design on the UI -- I only wish I knew what the number meant when I was selecting upgrades. Good work on this game!
Interesting and well made, but I didn't fully understand what I was doing. A quick tutorial might be good. And the UI wasn't super clear so I was surprised to discover I had died.
Yeah did not really have time for a tutorial :P
Basically, you'll need to keep the your cell base alive. You have red indicators on it that represents your life, and white/blue indicators that indicates how close you are to the next level.
I'll keep that in mind for the next jam
Thank you for the feedback!
Most unique game I've played so far, and a welcome change at that to have the "lack on control" not add to my stress levels! Pretty, smooth and quite addictive. Could make a good mobile game...
Fun game with a cool take on the theme. Nice visuals and come chill music! I especially like that you added upgrade mechanics.
Heeyyyy this was really addicting and actually pretty relaxing for an out of control game. Really love how this turned out. Nice one!
So simple, so elegant! Fun, addictive, the way the cells move and the sounds, so engaging. It could use some optimalization because the sounds became very distorted when there were many cells in the screen. I also didn’t understand every upgrade but I really enjoyed this overall.
Is 406 a good score by the way?:D
Whaat, you got 406? My record is 286 and i'm the creator... How did you manage to get that high? Any special strategy? I'm curios because the last push i did really made the game much harder than expected.
Thank you for the feedback, really appreciate it!
Well, first I tried to kill the blue early and this started to get out of hand, I kept most of my cells close to the core. It is almost mandatory since blue can spawn really close. As for upgrades, whenever it was possible, I always chose the heal and the ones which spawned more ranged cells. I didn’t have an other try with this after, so I don’t know how bulletproof this strategy is, I guess I had some luck too.
Hehe okey, i'll try that next time :)
Great concept! Had a lot of fun with this one and played 5 rounds, though never could get past 108. Love how the health was represented by the size of the cells. It's awesome to watch all of the cells swarming. The shape and way the multi-celled enemies moved was really cool. Loved the additional projectile upgrade. Really makes things go crazy.
I would love to see what this looks like with a a more detailed art style. Single flat colors looks good here, but I can imagine with a good artist, this game could really pop.
I did feel like the upgrades slowing down time was a bit intrusive to the flow of the gameplay. The first time, it was nice because I needed to read to see what the upgrades were, but once I understood what was going with them, I could feel my flow getting interrupted by the game slowing down. Might be nice if the upgrades were on the side and popped up whenever you leveled up without slowing down time.
I still am not entirely sure what left and right click do. I believe one forces all of the cells to move to that spot, and the other lets them roam and attack as they please? I'm really not sure of the second one because it still puts down a dot on the map which to me indicates a place that cells should be moving to. This should be clarified. Maybe an animation of each of those things on the main menu could help. The font size on the instructions needed to be bigger as well.
Overall I had a lot of fun with it! Didn't mean to write this much, but I wouldn't have if I didn't think this game really hit on something for me. Added to my collection and I'd love to see what a post-jam version looks like!
Thank you for the very detailed feedback! I really appreciate it. My record is 286, but it's extremely hard to get there. I messed up the balance on the last push. Never do last minute game balance changes :( It's a shame because the game get's really wild higher levels.
Yeah actually the art direction i went with is only because to save time. But this game can look so much better with some extra time on it. I will continue work post jam since i had a blast creating it.
Yeah i wanted to create a breathing room for the player since it get's so intensive, but i agree after a while it's more a annoyance.
Right click forces the cells to move to the point and ignore everything else, left click tells them to move there if they can, but if they see enemy cell types they will instead attack them instead.
Thank you again for the nice review.
Awesome game! Very well executed and great visual queus :)
This one is actually pretty cool! Relaxing to play, nice visuals and music, but also challenging in a way. I always loved these kind of swarm-strategy games. Good job!
It's really simple, yet fun and engaging! Good job!
At first was weird but once you get the hang of it, it's really addictive! :) Good work!
Font was a little small, but once i got the hang of it it was fun!! nice music, smooth and fun. Great accomplishment for 48hr!
Hey, this is a great concept and presentation. Very addictive.
Really nice game, cool mechanics and nice visuals! Great!
Really cool and chill game. Had some weird crunching of the audio, but that might just be on my end. Really love that clean minimal look.
Great job getting it submitted. Good luck.
really love this game, feels supper good to play. I think there is a little bit of a balance issue with enemy cells spawning to close to your base, but other than that it's fantastic
Yeah, needs more balancing. I noticed myself that exactly the last push i did i messed up some things and made the game way harder than it was previously. I'll most likely work on a improved version after the contest. Thank you for the feedback!
I loved your game. It took me a while to figure out what attack and force moves were but overall, great job.
It's pretty late where I am so I only played one run, but I enjoyed myself. Will likely play more if I get around to it. Rated. Good job with this!
