Fantastic little game! I love the music, art and the slow impending doom of the heroes. The demon was a nice surprise too!
I love the overall look and feel of the game - a very attractive and consistent artstyle that makes the world of the game really engaging. The music built the atmosphere nicely, without being distracting etc. The mechanics are quite smooth, other than the slight camera issue in the mushroom room - however, I really enjoyed the challenge of navigating the heroes whilst trying to collect the items - challenging without being impossible. I'd love to see an expanded version of the game, perhaps with other things to summon, or to build. Overall, a very fun game, very complete-looking. Nice job! :D
Hello! We really like this idea a lot, we could easily see this expand to a full game! We think we might not have gotten the full experience because we only got one tower and couldn't open any doors. Did we miss something (like how you make a new tower)? We'd love to play more of this!
Hiya! Sorry we weren't super clear on mechanics, you get new cards by killing enemies and bringing them to the main portal. From there, drag the power-up card onto one of your existing towers!
Closed doors are also there just for show, but we have some plans for them in a potential post-jam version :D
Oh, ok! We'll try again. We're really intrigued by this concept!
Solid idea, it's refreshing to see a tower defense game mixed with dungeon crawling. Perhaps you're the first to do that. Apart from lack of crucial info such as the way to obtain the power ups and a minor bugs such as the screen doesn't follow the character (noticeably in the mushroom's room) I thought this would be an easy game but it was chaotic for me in a good way when the enemies entered my place! It's hard to obtain the powerups and having the chance to use all the towers though, this is due to hitboxes and how much attack/damage is received/sent between player and the enemy ai. This can be fixed easily I believe. Adding more abilities to our character for emergency such as area damage would be a nice addition. Finally, that devil chick at the end is 'hot' af. lol. Above all, this is some well thought design, great job!
The concept and idea is really interesting, I hope you plan on expanding it because It solves one of the biggest issues with tower defense games. The fact that you basically have nothing to do for large periods of time. It would be really cool if you ran around "building" new towers on the left for example, or spells that you can use.
The fact that enemies which pass the tower come inside to kill you is such a great idea. If you could upgrade your hero, it could allow you to focus on different playstyles, for example going for a lot of strong towers, or facing the enemies yourself.
Visually this is one of the best entries so far, everything looks and feels incredibly coherent and polished. Great job!
Thank you, everyone, for the kind & constructive comments! All 6 of us couldn't be happier that you've all had fun with it!
We definitely have plans for an improved version after the jam that will address concerns with balancing, difficulty & length - #1 priority for me at the minute is the new dungeon layout but there are plans for new enemies, mechanics and (of course) bug fixes!
Thanks again, and I hope you'll all enjoy V1.0 when it releases here on Itch!
I love the visuals. This is probably the only game jam game I have seen so far with cutscenes. The character designs are good I especially liked the wizard skeleton guy. Only issue is that the tower defense bit seems to have very little effect on the peasants so I basically had to speedrun collecting the items.
I like the idea, the execution is lack luster. On my first run I saw where all the items were, but the villagers killed me. On my second run I pulled a speed run and got to the succubus. Tower felt like it did nothing tbh.... You rely 100% on your speed collecting items
Great concept, but a bit hard to control! Loved the art and music, good job guys!
Very cool idea, flawed execution.
Could not kill any of the peasants, maybe it's a bug, had finished on my 4th try by basically speed running the collection part before the peasants got in the tower.
Loved everything about the art.
Would love to play a fleshed out version. :)
Love the art style. really like the characters. and the game play enjoyable, little clunky, but id love to see this developed more
Really nice game love the end definitely a good demon waifu. Also it seems like you can completely ignore the tower defence part and rush to collect the ingredients and win. Nevertheless really nice game and well done :D.
This has the best ending to a game ive experienced, Love it <3
Loved the art and the cut-scenes in this game. The idea of the mechanics was nice as well, just, for the lack of a better term, clunky.
Great potential would love to see this developed further.
Excellent take on the theme, but I as others have said it's a bit buggy. Very cute art style, I loved it. Well done on the entry!
A cutscene intro?? that's too powerful haha
The tutorial was a bit unclear, but after a few guesses I figured out how the game worked. So kudos for the intuitive design!
I will say that the player attacks were very unclear as to what I was hitting, and it felt strange that the tower never seemed to kill anyone. Still all the same, good job on making this game!!!
Really cute art and great music. As others have said, the games a bit broken in its current state, but its a really neat idea that should be developed further!
So cool! <3
love the concept, like the previous guy said a bit too easy to beat but very original. I would play a lot more of this is it existed!
The gameplay was interesting, and it had the double genre gameplay that works for most of these games. The presentation was especially good, but the main drawback was that the game could be beaten in 30 seconds by just getting all the items without caring about the other half of the game. When I didn't finish the game all the drops from the heroes helping the other half was interesting, but the left half wasn't complex enough, and the interaction wasn't necessary enough for it to help.
