Very fun to play! The graphics looked nice and the music fitted the game. Maybe you don't really need the HUD elements. Great work!

Really liked the idea! Good level of challenge as well.

Ooh, a stealth game for the theme. Yay.  The game is a little sensitive making it a bit challenging but I got the concept. :)

I love this game. It is very hard, but I am a complete sucker for any game where I can play as a monster. The infection mechanic is a great concept. Nice work!

When the game ask me to hide myself, I can't run fast enough to avoid the lady who keep beating me to death

While this game has a very solid mechanic, it could use a lot of fixing up. For example, I assimilated a guard, and he somehow still managed to shoot me.

The portraits looked amazing, especially how they got more corrupted over time.

I like it. It's a cool concept for a stealth and it's good to have stronger to steal. Good game!

Nice job!!

Nice one, I really like the stealth / infecting mechanic! Great job!

Great Game man! I love the idea where you are the infection instead of the standard zombie game.

Great work! I really liked this game. The last level was quite the challenge, but was able to get it in the end (had some Hotline Miami feel). I enjoyed the slime infection animations a lot.

Pretty good! The movement felt a little stifling, but I really enjoyed the theme. I also really liked how you incorporated the tutorial while playing the game, it felt fresh.

WOW! What a great entry into the jam. First off, it fits the theme perfectly and seems very unique. The gameplay was fun, and the character portraits of infection were comical and awesome. Tons of potential for the game to be fleshed out and polished into a solid steam buy. Adding puzzle-ish elements to the infections could make some levels really interesting! The concept really shines in this. Great game, thanks for sharing!

I had a lot of fun with this, and feel like there’s a lot of potential for getting in depth with the strategy of stealthing, capturing enemies, etc. The level design was also rather good, especially in #2 where there was a kind of ‘immersive tutorial’ about hiding - nice work. The fourth level felt a bit too big, though, and I was walking around for quite a bit in that one. I died quite a lot and ended up having to do a lot of walking again, so maybe increased heatlh or more abilities to shed off enemies (especially ones with guns) would help?

Great work though, thanks.

I agree the 4th level was a little too open, but overall what a great game!

We had some other more in depth level but they just weren't ready in time. Very much appreciate the review will definitely look into your suggestions when polishing the game!

Because it was hotline miami inspired we thought that learning the level through trial and error was appropriate, but maybe we should reconsider that part. Agreed about the final level, it is a bit too big

The idea of this is really cool. The game is quite janky, but that's fair because of how complex it is. I really like how you have different options for what to do with each person: either control them so that you can carry on controlling someone for longer, kill them so that you can just get rid of them straight away, or leave them alone so you can come back to control them later if it'd be more useful to you later. It's good that you made it so that people who've spotted you stop chasing you if you run from them enough, otherwise you could get yourself into a state where you can't beat a level. It'd be cool if you made it so that the fully infected bodies followed you, so that you could lead them to other people and make them attack each other.

Developer

Thank for the in depth review! I totally agree the game can be quite janky, especially the AI, but that's what you get in 48 hours I guess. I do like the idea of them following you, but our original idea was that once you left their body they are still turning into a zombie, so they should actually be hostile to you unless you leave right at the end, which should probably be reconsidered.

Haha, this was a lot of fun!
