You get extra points for giving me nostalgia vibes from the old(ish) show "My Life as a Teenage Robot". I absolutely loved that show as a kid.
I think the idea is incredible, and it works very well. There's really not too much that needs to be done if you wanted to turn this into a fully fledged game (machanic-wise).
A few more attachments here, a few more puzzles there, a little black screen bug fixing ;) and boom, you've got yourself a pretty finished mechanic/game!
I don't really think theres anything that needs "fixing". It mostly just needs some polish, juice, and its pretty much there, full game.
Overall, great game, solid mechanic, and a big hit of nostalgia, thanks for that!
Too bad about that black screen bug! Everything in this game is well above average, especially for a 48-hour game. The ability to disjoint the modules is insanely cool and clever. The art is fantastic and the music is a bop. I will definitely be back to play the post-jam version!
Bugs aside, you have created a really interesting puzzle platformer that is a BLAST to play. The visual style is great, and everything is well laid out!
I'm addicted to jumping around with the propeller attachment! Nice work!
A really fantastic entry, had a lot of fun, in spite of the black screen bug ruining things a few times. My only real critique is that the move speed/momentum you build up is a smidge too fast, meaning its sometimes a little unneccesarily difficult to do careful and fast platforming.
The game looks great, plays great, I love the concept and the style was great too.
Very fun, very cute!
I love the art! Great game all around! Fun puzzles and nice interpretation of the theme!
Very clever puzzles! We encountered a crash on the leg+hat+spike level, but otherwise really good!
Well done on a great entry : )
ps. 25 seconds before the deadline!?
Lol. Oops. Thanks for playing! And yeah, we're aware of that bug and already fixed it. We'll update the game once the jam is over. Turns out HTML5 doesn't like it when you use a floating point as the index for an array, and GameMaker considers image_index (the frame of the current animation) as a floating point. I thought it was an integer. We did all of that just so the propeller hat moves up and down when you're walking, that's why it happens on that level specifically. Just as a fun fact I guess lol. Thanks again for trying out our game :D
Clever use of the theme, good execution, and really nicely presented. It's all here! Great work.
very nice concept,
kudos for making a puzzle game in 2 days
I loved it! The art is really great, the transition to the next level is satisfying, and the level design is great!
Really lovely! I'll comeback when the black screen is fixed ^^
Art style and music is awesome! Enjoyed the levels until the black screen. Will come back after gamejam to finish it with new build :D
other than the black screen the game is amazing, great music, art, level design, UI, keep up the good work <3
Running into a black screen on one of the later levels as well.
Otherwise, visuals look INCREDIBLE--props to your artist! Music is an absolute bop as well. Really could see some fun Mega Man vibes coming from a game like this that was developed more after the jam.
I kept getting a black screen on the seventh (?) level with the propeller hat and the two leg things. Fun mechanic and good art though, I wish I could see the rest of the game beyond that point.
❄ Right off the bat : amazing title, very eyecatching visuals
The platforming was just challenging enough, the different modules having different effects when dropped was interesting, I liked the modules, the concept of legs as a powerup is hilarious to me, even if its relevance to the jam theme is a little debatable
It's just a shame it seems to crash HTML5 consistently at about the same time
also robot girl is very cute, bonus cute points there
funny, :o
Awesome job! Great concepts, music, puzzle design, and art! There's clearly a lot more that could be done with this premise with an extended work period, but what's already here is dope. My only issue would be that it doesn't fit super well with the theme. I can see how the puzzle-solving components you have on you are tied to your abilities, but it still feels like a bit of a stretch.
Hey! Thank you for playing. Yeah, I agree about the theme. It initially was about a power-ranger style robot where each part had its own consciousness and gave the "whole" (a mix of all the different robots) a new ability. That made total sense with the theme. But constraints are necessary and each one of them made the game slowly drift into something more manageable (although we didn't make nearly as many levels as we wanted to) but less fitting. The game is much shorter than we wanted it to be, and there's even a module that's implemented but not used. We'll probably update this to make it play better on browser, as well as adding a bunch of levels and modules once the jam is over. I'm glad you still liked it!
