This is a very interesting mechanic and it adheres to the theme well! It's a shame that it's too short, but good job for being able to make the submission!

The controls are a little finicky at this state of the game but I believe that if the controls could be smoothed out this has to be a potential to be a great action platformer with some puzzle element to it. Perhaps it would be interesting if there was some sort of benefit the player gets while the blob is attached to it?

The art is gorgeous and a pleasure to look at so great job with that! :)

Thank you very much for your feedback! I'm quite proud of the art.

I'd honestly love to develop this game more, give it a propper buildup, progression, secrets, tutorial and ending, but unfortunately there just wasn't the time during the jam for doing it all solo. I really wish I could have made it longer though.

Based on all the feedback I've gotten though, might be worth expanding on it outside of the jam, someone suggested slingshotting the slime into things could be fun, which would lend well into puzzle platforming too!

At least I could get a secret dinosaur in there before the deadline ;)

Nice colors, very pleasant to look at. Took a while to figure out, but turns out the shift key is super important.

As others have said, the movement could be tweaked to be less 'floaty'

Developer

Yeah I'd love the opportunity to just tweak a few numbers and change "press down" to "hold down" but alas, it is what it is.

Glad the visuals work well for you though!

Great exploration of a concept and really nice execution! The fluid visuals and lovely sound design really make me wish there was more to play, but alas it's a jam so we get what we get.

The movement at times could feel a bit sluggish, but that's just a nit-pick.

I really enjoyed this game! Good job!

I'll send you a copy if I make more of it <3

Cool artwork and mini-story line.

Didn't think I could hate a purple blob so much in so little time ;)

Little bugger wouldn't leave me alone trying to get up to the top level, and yet rewarding because of the challenge .. nice work!

Game not as easy as a 'walk to the library'

And that was the secret story all along ;)

Or just some weird difficulty curving haha

Though very short, I enjoyed the experience. It was cool to experience that drag and frustration from that creature catching you again and again on your journey.

A friend of mine said "this reminds me of 'Get Over It'", and I think that might be on theme :P

It could probably do with a bit of a smoother difficulty curve though haha, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Stunning artwork!

The controls felt a bit junky though (being slow and a little awkward, especially the jump).

Also, very cool topic.

Developer(+1)

Yeah crisping things up a little would probably be nice, give the character a bit more control when it comes to dodging the slime.

I'm glad you liked the vibe of it though! I'm usually more of an artist than a programmer and I think that shows :P

Nice concept! This game has potential. I can imagine later stages, where you have to shoot the depressing cloud at enemies to advance. Short but sweat. Only using few colours in the artstyle is a great idea to save time. I should probably do that next time. :D

The real hot tip is to draw everything 4x bigger than you want it to be and then shrink it down with hard edges, comes out looking crisp :)

Thank for the feedback though! Had to rush it at the end cause it was 4am where I live ^.^' but I'd love to expand on this one. Slingshotting the depressing cloud at enemies is a great idea too!

We were in Denmark, so luckily the jam ended at 8 pm for us. I'll have to try out the shrinking thing.
