This is cool! We had very similar concepts but we took them in very different directions. I like the way you used it!
The graphics are really nice overall, and it was fun.
The art was great and the game was a ton of fun to play, having the bandits detach cars too was a nice twist and helped to keep the pressure on rather then just to camp on the main car. The UI for this game was gorgeous as well! I liked how you showed the bullets in the revolver rather then just a normal ammo counter.
Overall, super fun game!
If you get a chance, check out my game!
I adore the concept and in general this game is really polished for a game jam!
It is really refresing experience not to play another puzzle game! this game has action mixed with some kind of tower defense (a genre that I LOVE).
The graphic and the style are well rounded and clear to understand.
I want to play more levels with MORE content in the near future! May be you could create towers or hechmen, night levels, a TUNNEL, explosives, alchohol, prison wagons, poker cards to collect, a shop/station between missions... I hope that you will continue to develope it!
Loved the art, loved the feel, and very much loved how you always had to be on the move to save both the carts and keep the speed up! Great job! :D
That was very fun. I really like how the wrench restores your health, allowing the player to make risky plays by beelining all the way to the last train and then back. The whole game is quite hectic since you're constantly running back and forth to speed up the train and prevent bandits from detaching the cars, but that's what makes this game really fun - that constant feeling of motion.
There's a couple of quality-of-life things I'd add to improve the gameplay. First, I'd definitely put in a button to reload the gun. I'd also add a warning cue for when a bandit it detaching a car off-screen. That way, the player gets alerted when they have to rush all the way to the end to prevent losing a car. Finally, I think the player should be able to drop down through some platforms, like the really thin ones. It would make navigating the train and shooting the bandits a little easier.
Great game overall, I had a lot of fun playing it. My best score was around 25000.
Thanks for taking the time to play and write your thoughts. That means a lot to me.
Yeah, those are really great QoL improvements. I even had at one point an indicator when the car is being detached but it was bugged, so I decided to get rid of it. And dropping down through platform definitely should be a thing (especially since those are one-way collision platforms, so it basically screams to the player that they should be able to drop down :))
Thank you for the feedback!
I love how this takes the prompt of the jam even further by implementing "joined together" in two parts of the game, the health and the controls (joining together shoot and fix on one key).
Very polished! Feels like a fully finished game! Great game-play, nice art, fun music! Makes me want to go rewatch Westworld hahaha!
Oh wow! Awesome graphics ya got here, looks really polished and the gameplay is fun too! The music sounds great and fitting, well done!
I can see potential in this game and more possible levels beyond this! You could even add the reverse, where you can play as a bandit raiding a train, clearing each carriage and deciding is it time to detach it to win before it reaches the end (you must be on it), you'll get more points depends on how many carriage you have at the end!
Thank you very much for the kind words and feedback, much appreciated!
The idea of a platformer on moving platforms is quite novel and has some real potential, just felt like it was too easy for the bad guys to win by getting in behind you and stopping the engine.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Me likes wild west
Wow, this is a really interesting idea! I love the graphics, a bit similar to flash games:). Was interesting to play!
Wow I'm impressed by the visuals for a jam like this! Also, I found jumping and shooting at the same time to be a somewhat weird timing and I found it hard to hit people on a higher level.
Yeah, I must admit, that with such floaty(-ish jump) it's hard to shoot. That's definitely something I should've thought of. Thanks for your feedback :)
Art and music were super good with the western theme. Gameplay was awesome. Was able to reach the end with all seven cars.
Thank you for taking the time to play this little mess of mine ;)
Very fun and elegant idea! I like that you can't just camp at the back of the train and shoot bandits, you gotta heal and stoke the train at the front. Very clever!
I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing!
Fun to play an very challenging. Maybe adding an entry level to get used to the controls and how to win is an idea? Cool soundtrack, fits the game nicely.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback. What you suggested should definitely help :)
The art is really pretty and the game in general is extremely polished for a 2 day jam, well done :)
Thank you very much for your kind words!
Simple yet effective game! I wish taking and dealing damage gave more of a response to the player
Yeah, I know what you mean. Those red flashes were the least I could do and this was already last hour fix. Thank you very much for the feedback!
2D RDR :)
Yeah, without the graphics, horses, quests, dialogues, deep characters, traveling, more quests and funny ragdoll physics. Otherwise I think you nailed it :D
Good job on this game. I got confused by jumping and shooting keys at first but then I used to it :)
Very good game overall :D
