The camera is quite janky and hard to control. I think the focal point was too close. A cool concept though. I think with some polishing this game could be very good. Nice music but the bullet hit audio is quite agressive
Hmm strange, I'm not experiencing any smoothness/control issues with the camera at all. There's some geometry clipping that can happen though. Anyway, thanks for playing :)
I like the gravity mechanic and the movement it feels really nice and smooth! It would be nice to see this more polished up, and it would be great if there was a way to heal. I also liked the smooth transitioning music, and the music itself was very nice. Nice work!!
Thanks Harry!
ngl I was stuck for a few minutes after killing all the guys on the original planet- I was trying to shoot at the ones on others and thinking I just had awful aim but then I was like omg what if I can jump to it- lemme tell you the gravity thing you guys made is awesome :D good work!
Haha yeah I can see how you got confused. Thanks for playing!
Oh my god please make a full game with that gravity mechanic. This one needs a lot of polishing, but its great for 48h submission! Congrats!
Thanks :)
The planetary gravity and hookshot mechanics combined make for some awesome gameplay. Nice one :)
Thanks :)
The game is a bit hard and it took me a while to figure out what to do, the visuals aren't very good, but for a jam game we really can't ask too much can we? The idea is very interesting, but it was executed in a way that it gets hard to figure out at first.
Interesting idea. A bit confusing at first. The capsule enemies are not colliding (or the collider is not big enough) with the player and if feels a bit disorienting to look for enemies that are partially inside you. Could become a fun arcade shooter.
Hmm I'm sure the collision is there but I think geometry gets clipped because of the camera. Thanks for playing.
Love the hookshot mechanic. The firing could be automatic, clicking that often gets tedious after a while. Also a big fan of planetary gravity^^ Good job on making individual music for the planets.
Thanks :) Yeah I would have implemented autofire if we had more time, but too many other things took priority
Idea is very interesting, it would be better with score system or another progression
Very trippy, it has a good concept but it kinda uncomfortable to play, I would suggest another view instead of first-person, but it was good overall
This is way harder than it has any right to be lol. Fun gameplay and very catchy music. The planets look nice, too. It is a bit unfair though that you spawn right next to an enemy turret.
Thanks
Alright took a minute to get into it, but, this is awesome, I could definitely see this being expanded out into a full game. Though a wider fov and being able to hold the mouse button down to fire would be very nice additions haha! Great job! Very impressive accomplishment in 48hrs! Oh and love that each planet has it's own soundtrack that was a very clever design choice!
Cheers mate! Train that tapping finger ;-)
Transition between planets rules :)
Cheers!
This is awesome! Maybe with some polish you could expand upon it and maybe have more levels where, for example, you are trying to wipe out a solar system or something like that. Anyways, congratulations on making this awesome game in 48 hours!
Thanks! Yeah an entire solar system would be cool.
Very fun and very pretty. The design of the planets is great! Also the enemies kind of remind me of that youtuber Dani. I wish you had the game version of the planet models in the menu screen though as that would be the best veiwpoint to see them from. Otherwise fantastic work!
Thanks! If only we had a couple hours more time :')
I know the feeling too well haha
I love the fact that you put beans in this game. The art seems to fit in with the game. The sensitivity of the mouse is very low, but really cool! The music is fire as well
Bean topia! Loll. Yeah now that you mention it I forgot to add a sensitivity slider. Glad you liked it though!
Unique take on the "Joined together" idea. It gives this game a loose and free feeling that I like. The art of the different planets is also pretty well done. I had a swell time.
Thanks!
I really like the concept my only criticisms are that it's a bit confusing at first with how you can travel between planets, maybe make a tutorial or something. Also when the player loads in there are already enemies shooting at them so what I would recommend is making it so that enemies start spawning a bit after the player has loaded in to give them a bit of time to react.
But I definitely see potential in this becoming a full on game with more polish like lets say a roguelike where you have to jump between planets that all have different terrain and enemies. But in summary this is a fun game that's a bit confusing at first but could definitely work if given polish.
Thank you :)
Wow that's a great game!
Different music themes on planets, graphics, fluid jumping physics. I would certainly play a non-jam version of this thing.
Thanks!
There is a great core here to add much more to and really become something fun. The music is really fun. Overall nice work.
Something id recommend is slowing down the enemy fire to give the player a chance to dodge the bullets. They shoot at you so fast, its really hard to play around them. You could add more enemies if needed that way, if doing that caused it to be too easy.
While I agree, jumping all the time also kinda does the trick :)
Thanks! We wanted to add more elaborate mechanisms for dodging with prediction and better AI but we didn't manage to do that within the time limit. We decided the game was a bit too easy so we made the enemies shoot a bit faster. Maybe it's too fast now, idk haha.
