Dude ur's game resolution lol , it's a webgl game , u dont have to make it 4k res, over all the game is fun and a cool concept noice job !

It's actually FHD resolution, but we did this for the first time and had no idea how it won't scale down in the browser. We are sorry for the issue you faced and also glad that you liked the concept. :)

I got every light except for the last one on the far right screen. Tried my darndest!

Just as a heads up to other players, if the game appears too big in your browser all you have to do is hit control (-) a few times to zoom out and get it to fit in the browser window. Easy peasy.

To the devs, I really like your presentation here! The minimalistic glow objects makes for a really sleek and appealing aesthetic. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on allowing two orientations to connect the circuit (so it would be both the right angle and that same angle +180 degrees), so long as the lines are connected correctly. It wasn't a bother to me at all, but I bet it would help prevent potential frustration or misunderstanding in players.

Thank you for stopping by Jordan. We are happy that you liked the minimalist design approach for this game. We had some issues with the sprites aligning correctly which is why we have decided to keep the rotation work only one-way and not 180 because then it appeared as not connected. We were racing against the time to complete and submit this game as it is our first even jam participation, but the future updates should fix the resolution issue and many other suggestions and feedback we received from all the awesome devs. Thanks once again for your comment. :)

Pretty satisfying and neat when it all lights up and glows. Deeperbeige raiseed some good points on the flaws though. A good game is there though.

Great concept idea, but flawed implementation:

  • Seems buggy. Sometimes the connectors look like they're connected, but don't work until you turn them 180 degrees. If they had diode symbols on them, that could be part of the puzzle.
  • Connectors don't have any feedback at all that they can be rotated. Makes it hard to discover what you're doing to begin with.
  • Nothing is animated or juicy. The game is simple, so you need some animation to make it 'feel' fun. The simple aesthetic is nice, but the instant jumpy movement isn't. DOTween is your friend here!
  • The lines don't really light up consistently enough to explain where the electricity has got to, and what isn't working.
  • The first puzzle is quite overwhelming visually. Might have been better as a more simple circuit, and increasing in complexity as you get further into the game.
  • I like that the puzzles are connected. I don't like that the screen flips instantly between them. Again, DOTween is your friend! One line of code would make the transitions way nicer.
  • Sounds/music are almost nonexistent. I think it should be atmospheric, perhaps dark and moody with the lights off, then bold and bright once the lamps are lit up.
  • Also, why not automatically present the next puzzle when one is completed?
  • Game doesn't seem to adapt to different resolutions well.
  • Why doesn't the last lamp light up? I can't rotate anything else on this screen, and there are lit segments on both sides of the lamp...

Sorry if any of that sounds overly critical. It's meant constructively. I love the idea, hence taking the time to do a proper critique/feedback for it. It's really close to brilliant, just falls down a bit with the implementation. If it's your first jam, or you don't have much experience, be happy that you've made and released something at all. Also that it's good enough to warrant a huge comment from an instant fan. Congratulations!

There is our in-depth review :) and we are very happy that you have decided to invest your time into this.
This is our first ever game jam and we are only one month in with the Unity engine and you can see that we tried to utilize every minute we got before submitting the game, we were unsure of the extension on time though :)

    We surely wanted it to lit every 180 rotation, but some sprites were the issue where they won't align and this happened in the first level and we were running out of time to fix that part, so we decided to keep it one-way-fit only
  • (Connectors don't have any feedback at all that they can be rotated. Makes it hard to discover what you're doing to begin with)
    We will have some indication on which ones can be rotated and which are stationary
  • (Nothing is animated or juicy. The game is simple, so you need some animation to make it 'feel' fun. The simple aesthetic is nice, but the instant jumpy movement isn't. DOTween is your friend here!)
    Initially, we had a plan on animated batteries (The idea was different back then) and some charge flowing through the completed circuit. We will have these things done when we get a chance

    We will have a better transition between levels, we don't have any, at the moment

    That "Switch toggle" sound was added like an hour before the submission, we wanted to have some soothing background music, but we were just running out of time

    The reason we don't have the auto transition into the next level is that everything is connected and is one puzzle piece. We wanted the player to have a free choice of going back and forth and complete other levels. We wanted to have the battery discharging and adding more complexity to the puzzle which we will surely have in the next update

  • (Game doesn't seem to adapt to different resolutions well.)
    This is like our first ever game built for the browser and we had no time to make a change to the screen resolution, but all these feedback and suggestions will only make the game better as we update

  • (Why doesn't the last lamp light up? I can't rotate anything else on this screen, and there are lit segments on both sides of the lamp..)
    Okay, the last one is supposed to lit as we wanted to keep the puzzle less frustrating, but the syncing between two computers missed the last minute update and it never went through

that is quite clever idea for the game  jam. i liked this some kind of physics lab exercises of connecting cables and stuff back in my uni days. it is not too challenging and quite relaxing. nice job!

This is a fun idea for a puzzle. A previous commenter mentioned seeing this as a mobile game, I thought of this almost as one of the puzzles you would find in a game like Resident Evil. Either way, as a puzzle it's solid, but there are some issues, which I think are probably jam limitations. For one, some indication of which wires I can interact with would be nice, as currently the only way to know is to just click every wire on screen randomly. Another issue is there's no way to know which is the correct orientation of a wire. Many times the wire seemed to fit, but I had to rotate it 180 degrees for it to be correct. If the orientation matters, there should probably be some indication of which way is meant to be "forward". Again, probably a jam limitation, The implementation is solid otherwise. Good job!

Yes, a jam limitation, there it is. All these would have been so different if we really had even an hour extra because we were so late on this and we had to redo certain things because of the syncing issues we faced. I like the idea, but I also had some screen resolution issues and was confused at first! I'd love to have a mechanic that wasn't just clicking. But good idea!

Thats a really cool idea, I can imagine this as a mobile game you might play on an airplane or something, its pretty soothing, could potentially add some more mechanics that prevent the simplest solutions to being the right answer in every case

Yes, even we are thinking of taking this further with some soothing music and few more changes and turn it into an app that helps you sleep or pass some time without putting too much stress on solving the puzzle. Thank you for the feedback!

I have to agree with the other people, it was a bit tough to understand what to do, especially because you had to rotate the pieces by 180° sometimes even though they were connecting the two endpoints already.

Also, the canvas you used was too large for my screen ;-)

THE GOOD (what i liked, and what stood out for me):

It was a very aesthetic puzzle game. The light bulbs were very satisfying to solve, although I couldn't do the last one!

THE BAD (what i disliked, the bugs, and other problems):

Having to rotate the wire twice made it very difficult to actually debug what part of the circuit was wrong. Its hard to tell which part of the circuit are actually turnable. Understanding how the game works was also a struggle, personally.

THE HARSH (stuff that would just make the game better, usually just personal opinion, don't take it too heavily :D ):

Having more design for the artstyle may have been nice

OVERALL 3,4,3 great!
