BILLY WILL LIVE ON! Super duper fun, I could tell immediately what type of fish (homing, sin wave, straight forward, fast homing) just by the fish designs, which surprised me a lot. Addicting: I had to get to the end, no matter what! Took me ~4-5 attempts. Got super scared near the depths, wasn't sure if the background vibrating was intentional or a unity thing with pixel art but it actually added a lot of that dread which was great. Loved this one!

Developer

Ahh, you really did figure out all the 3 fish patterns! The shark and the piranha actually used the same script with different settings from the green triangular fish coz I ran out of time. It's weird that the background was vibrating though, it might be something to do with the parallax issue, which turned out contributing to the atmosphere haha! I'll consider making it a feature in the future!

Hi. Great pixel art, sound and music. I love the atmosphere. Congratulations. Did you create the art?

Developer(+1)

Yep, I did create all the pixel art in the game! I did not make any of the sounds nor music though.

Hey. you are an amazing artist!! I definitly need somebody with your talent. Congratulations again.

Hi again. Since I liked the art  in Billy the worm bait so much, we created a youtube video and we mentioned it and show it. If you'd like to watch it

I love the Stardew Valley vibes! And the concept is really clever too :)

Developer

Thanks! I took quite some time in the planning stage to get my vision clear and it turned out great!

Submitted(+1)

Great concept! Took a while to learn the concept, but it was addicting once I did. Billy will live on!

Developer

Thanks for finishing it! I should definitely have more explanation for the games

I was hooked. This was one of the baiter games in the jam.

Great art! It's super colorful and the UI is very polished. The gameplay also feels good

Developer

Thanks a lot! I'm hoping to add more variety of fishes in the future!

Thank you!

Great game, love the visuals and the art style. I do feel like it takes a while to lower the fisher's attention

Developer

Yep, I should've made the recovery into using a curve instead (higher tension = slightly higher recovery), since right now it is more of a careful consideration the player must have while wiggling around to not exceed the limit

This was a fun game. Also, I loved the art!

Developer

Thanks! The game lacks some animations though haha

Submitted(+1)

fun game, i like how deep you can go in it, and i love the sprites

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The shark and piranha sprites were rushed, but yea this jam is really a good opportunity to see how far I've gone from a self learned pixel artist 👍

An impressively honed game that had me 'hooked' from first play! Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks! Needed to ensure the hook is honed and sharp for catching even the largest fish haha

Finally managed to reach the bottom. This was such an addicting game, I had a good time playing it!

Fun game! Simple and creative idea with lots of mechanics that all play into each other nicely. The game is a tad unforgiving (one mistake and you have to start all over again), but that's just inevitable given the premise of the game. I was not good enough to see the special ending, but I really enjoyed this game regardless!

Developer

Thanks for trying the game!

This is really enjoyable to play! All the mechanics make sense and create a nice balancing act to maintain, awesome work!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words!

Really cool game. The atmosphere is really great, especially as you go down. I managed to reach the bottom of the ocean!

Developer

Thank you! I planned to have a couple more biomes, but you know how game jam goes, haha

Very nice game, fun to play and good presentation. Kept trying until I managed to reach the bottom.

Developer

Thanks a lot!
