Really enjoyed it, thought it was a great idea. Much trickier than it looks though!!

Submitted(+2)

it is harder than what i thought, i really like your idea. well done!

Submitted(+2)

Surprisingly difficult once you realize the pieces can fall down when you move the rows. Not sure what the best strategy is, but it's a lot trickier than I thought at first. Really creative take on the jam idea with 'reverse connect 4', and the art/style of the game is on point. Quite polished too.

I'd appreciate it if you check out my game too if you have a minute!

Developer

Thanks, yea it really starts to get complex when you start filling up the fourth column! We're really happy with how it turned out :)

Beautiful looking game! I couldn't actually get the pieces to shift row unfortunately. I could get one every now and again but it felt rather random. Am I missing something?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

The pieces will only shift if they are "settled", meaning they have fallen through the board as far as they can. We didn't want the game to work like tetris where you can have theoretically complete control over where the pieces land, so this is what we ended up with.

There are some interesting effects in the game as a consequence of this! Try moving a stack of pieces all the way to the edge of the board, squishing the stack against a falling token

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for letting me know! I replayed and rerated it, that does make this game super fun and interesting! I guess there is a bug where you can occasionally shift pieces on the way down

Developer

I might see if I can make a test to find that behavior, sounds a little tricky!

This game is awesome! I adore the art style and presentation of the game. Also the clock sound being an indication of "time passing" is a great touch. Sweet submission! Tried to desperately beat it but couldn't lol

Submitted(+1)

Really well executed and it just does a unique job of making you see a common game in a totally different way. Diagonals are evil in forward and reverse connect 4. Maybe it's just a skill issue :D

Developer

During brainstorming while we were paper prototyping, I thought it might be impossible! I was finally able to solve it at some point after we submitted. its pretty tough to check if shifting 6+ tokens would cause a win

shit made me cum fr fr

Developer

Glad to hear you enjoyed it 😬

Submitted(+1)

Really love the twist and the evil mouth creature really sells the mood

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed! I like to think the board is either possessed or it's a Mimic creature. But I can't imagine it would be very comfortable if someone dropped tokens in your guts!

Submitted(+1)

fantastic I loved to twist on the classic connect the 4 game and it is well executed good job.

So, these guys came to play and they really thought that they will have some fun? Hell no! xDDDD

Execution of the idea was great and the players feel pretty smart (those guys got me good, damn). Great job! 😁

Good puzzle concept. The Ai was well designed and I enjoyed the intro animation!

Developer(+2)

We are very proud of the AI's development, thank you! I spent nearly the whole jam working on it :D

I thought this was an interesting game. I like the art style and the sound effects. To improve I would add some background audio.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I drew inspiration from two vastly different games for the art-style which were SpiritFarer (for the technique) and Inscription (For the color palate and overall vibe).

I really enjoyed this game but I wasn't very good at it. The music wasn't overpowering which was good although I would have appreciated a way tolower them or mute them.

Really great job on the players, seeing them decide where to place the chip and then reactng me blocking that space was fantastic. Well done on this game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Volume and settings for gamespeed were something that we definitly should've prioritized higher for sure

Submitted(+4)

I like, how he try put this piece. Good AI. Few times I was lose.

Developer(+3)

Haha Yea we're really proud of that behavior :)

Submitted(+2)

I like the idea and presentation, and the clarity of the controls. As others note, an option to speed things up would be a nice addition. Not that it would improve my game play.

Submitted(+2)

Such a good idea for the theme well done, and a surprisingly difficult game!

Developer(+2)

Thanks! Yea it seems deceptively easy at first...

Submitted(+2)

The concept is simple but the game is really enjoyable! Great presentation!

Amazing work overall!

Submitted(+2)

I never realised how hard it is to try to not win the game. Cool concept with a lot of quick thinking and strategy.

Submitted(+2)

Same as the other guy, wish there was a way to speed up the game. The art was fantastic, and the last thing I expected from today was to get insulted by a disconnect board but i'm sure it'll help me grow into a better person.

Submitted(+3)

A simple premise executed very well! Great job. I wish there was a way to speed up the game a bit. Other than that, no complaints here.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah when testing the game out, it was entertaining to play around with the game speed. Increasing the speed when you win or as an option was something we wish we had time to squeeze in there
