Wonderful game, beautiful and nice setting. I love Hotline Miami so I was into it immediately. However, I would have like to be able to have some influence over the situation during the action phase, like being able to tell units where to go and when.
Hey, thanks for playing and for your kind words! There was a "direct control mode" in the works where you could assume direct control of a unit during the action phase, but that ended up getting scrapped due to time constraints.
That sounds like fun, as long as it doesn't make the player unfairly powerful, but I can totally see why it would be cut
didnt know police had such a strong body amour that block so many bullets XD
jokes aside, i think would be nice to have a circle of "not placeable" for my troops! great job on the game!
This is presented super well and the game is fun once you get the hang of it. It was a little difficult to begin with but beyond that I had a blast. Great job! Super sleak visuals and audio!
Really cool idea. First level was already too hard for me though, but still really liked the Hotline Miami vibes.
Cool game, pretty hard from the get-go. Would have liked to see a small tutorial to get to know the tactics and strategies better, but hey, 48 hours, right?
One thing i would change, is keep the 'player' visible even when out of sight from your guys, i lost track of him several times :P
I like this take on the tower defense genre, where you don't know what path the enemy is going to take. I did get a bit frustrated with the characters never shooting because they would get stuck, though.
It absolutely blows my mind you can get this much done in two days. I had a lot of fun doing a few rounds. My only complaint is the AI on the players side can be frustratingly dumb at times, but it is a game jam game, and still really impressive and fun. Love the aesthetics of your page (and the game obviously.)
These cops are so strong.
Of course they are - they're fueled by Justice and Synth Music!
I like how it hotline miami but reversed and instead of rush game it's become tackicle
I like that compared to regular tower-defense games here you have much more freedom to place your turrets/units and you have to try to anticipate which path enemy will choose. Overall idea is great but the game lacks polish and the units often got stuck.
Yep... the units getting stuck is an unfortunate bug that slipped in near the end of development.
Thanks for playing anyways!
Fun and interesting take on the theme. Getting to build the level and watching it play out was fun and kinda reminded me of our own submission. Great work!
Thank you to everyone for the supporting comments! I've uploaded the OST to Youtube. The playlist is here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcUzoR-KbBrD71cUm7g_eX7NsyxMKRa-v
This game fits the theme perfectly! It feels like I'm getting a taste of my own medicine when the cops come in and slaughter all my men. The game is really polished too, so great job!
This was one idea my team tossed around! I'm glad someone was able to do it!
This is a fantastic idea, and the presentation is super polished. Unfortunately, it has bugs that make it unplayable at times; Enemies approached my guards and froze while mine mowed them down, making me automatically win.
this was actually really fun!
this got me hooked right away it was really well done and i cant belive it was only made in 48 hours
Looks like a very cool job for 2 days.
Congratulations!
Really fun idea!
The Akimbo Corps get stuck sometimes and die easily though :(
Great reinterpretation of the 'Turret Defense' genre. I really liked the sound and graphics. Excellent submission, great job!
