LOVED IT.

The puzzles were good, not too easy, not too hard. The humor was on point. Giving us the ability to draw our own sprites is a genius idea. A full release should include a function to upload and view the sprites, there are some really cool ones in the comments already.

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad that the puzzles were a good difficulty for you! A gallery to view other's sprites would be an awesome thing, but then I'll have to do some active moderation I'm afraid. I might do that anyways tho, could be worth it.

Amazing! Role reversal in a unique direction, good puzzles, good humor

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing! Glad you found it funny

This game is a gem and a delight! <3
This might be one of the games that I hope the most gets an expanded release later, as I could easily see it catching on with a lot of people. It has the perfect amount of puzzle-y-ness, while mostly being a great game with a focus on self-expression.

Good luck with the jam, and your future endeavors!

Thanks for playing it on stream! I am certainly gonna do a full steam release eventually, since as you are saying, it has a little bit for everyone. I'll have to finish my current project from last year first though, but if all goes well this game is gonna get a full release sometimes next year.

Submitted

I am so looking forward to that! I'm following you here now so that I hopefully see those future updates, and I'll have to check out your other works!

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Amazing game!  15/15!  I would be honored if you could rate mine!

WHY DID YOU GIVE ME THIS POWER??? YOU KNOW I'M NOT MATURE ENOUGH TO HANDLE THIS RESPONSIBILITY

Developer

Oh no what did you do to the flower :O (I don't think I want an answer)

Ok, this right here is a jam winner, what a game. Super neat concept, yeah a couple bugs but the execution was fantastic and the voice acting was the cherry on top! How did you get this done in a weekend?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! The secret is sleeping 4h less than usual and being experienced with the tools and programming I think. The simple art style helped a lot aswell.

Really funny, and I enjoyed the puzzles a lot. I thought I was softlocked briefly due to one of the reset buttons not working, but I found one pixel that was clickable and managed to continue. Good work on this!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, that button on the second key puzzle thats barley working is really annoying

Submitted

Nice voice action! Actually inspires me to try to work that in in a next gamejam too :)

The puzzles were nice, even if a bit on the easy side, but they were a good distraction to keep invested in the gameloop.

Developer(+1)

Yes, voice overs are really rare in game jams, you a tip that subtitles are really important if you do use them, so non native speakers can understand the game better. The feedback on the puzzles have been varying a lot, I think it depends on one's experience with puzzle games. But glad you liked it anyways!

Submitted

Voice action! Damn! Check our too!

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you liked the voice acting!

Submitted

This is by far the most creative implementation of the "you are the developer" concept, you should definitely make this a full release.

Submitted

By the way, the last level can be solved without the timer.

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it! I'll turn it into a full release eventually, I have a nuch of ideas for expanding the game. And yes, I knew about the timer puzzle being a bit broken but I didn't have time to fix it

Loved the ART! Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing!

5 out of 5 everything! I hope more people ge to play this! I loved it SO SO much!

I even made some SICK pixel art! The voiceover was soothing, the vibe and humor of the game unbeatable! Sadly I got stuck on the second key/door game :<

I addded it to my collection to try it out later! Please make more of it, it's totally addicting!

Here is some of the art haha

Developer(+1)

Oh wow that's the best pixelart I've seen anyone make in this game yet! I'm gonna make a full release for steam eventually with deeper story and even more variety in gameplay. But I'm currently busy working on finishing a long term project from last years jam, so it'll have to wait a bit (I'm hoping to have the full release of I overscoped some time during 2024 though). In the meantime it would be appreciated if you checked out my big project: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2434720/Maces_and_Dices/ Thanks for playing!

Submitted

I am so happy to hear that! Will definitley check it out! Thanks! (It made my day and my life so much better tbh)

10/10 wonderful game!

Did you know that you can make yourself with the sprite editor? Anyways I love this!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I did not actually know that, I thought that the character was too tall for that.  (or well you can't fit the original hat)

Submitted

This is incredible!! One of the best I've played from this jam! :O

The puzzles are so clever and the satisfaction of everything coming together and becoming more complicated as you progress is so fun. Great work!!!!!!!

Developer

Heyy, thanks a lot for playing! Glad you liked it

Submitted

This game just keeps on giving! Love it!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'll be sure to keep that feeling of suprise when I eventually make a full release version.

Submitted(+1)

Can't complain, I made the game.

Developer

Haha thanks! I love it when people send images of the art they drew

Submitted(+1)

All 5's from me for getting to draw a victory hat at the end.

Developer(+1)

I feel that something is wrong with this hat... Anyways, that is some nice flowers and I really like the enemy you drew! Thanks for playing

I love this game! The voice acting really makes the game, it brings another character into the story in a way that almost reminds me of the narrator from Stanley Parable or Portal. The puzzles were fun and the game had a great sense of humor! This game is ready to be sold, I'm seriously impressed

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it. The stanley parable was absolutely an inspiration

One of my favorite entries! The meta commentary was funny and fit the general theme of the game, the "coding" puzzles were also really interesting and sometimes had me scratching my head for a minute or two. Another great idea were the sprite editors that conveyed the feeling that you were actually making your own game. My biggest issue with this game is the amount of content but that is to be expected in such a short time frame, would love to see this concept further expanded upon! You should be just as proud of this game as I am of my victory hat

Developer

Thanks a lot! I will expand the game further soon enough, I have so many ideas for a deeper and more interesting story plus a lot of new types of puzzles. I'll just have to finish my current long term project first.
