Really fun game! The art and sound was nice and the amount of enemy variety kept the game interesting. On my first try I got to wave 53. It seemed like the difficulty took a little to long to start ramping up, as early enemies never managed to even get an attack out if I swiped over there quick enough. Overall great entry!

Developer

Yeah the early waves were given to let the player get used to the controls - especially if the player is not used to these kinds of games in general. Of course, it would not be the case for most of y'all gave devs!

I made it to wave 23 on my first attempt. Its a fun game and really well polished. I think the difficultly scaling was a little too slow, the first around 8 waves didn't seem to have much difference. But by wave 20 it was hectic and fun. I enjoyed it

The music is such a vibe, and the game plays really well, being at home I had to suffer the trackpad experience, but I still enjoyed the game quite a bit.

Some comments I have:
-It was really frustrating that it did resgister click on the outer walls, my mouse would be slightly of the playing area and nothing would happen.
-You did an amazing job at making the intuitive to play and quick to pick up, I had absolutely no problem getting started
-The difficulty curve is a bit too exponential, the game goes from way to easy to very hard too quickly leaving very little time in the enjoyable sweet spot.
-I think the game ould benefit greatly from roguelite elements, if you'd have had those extra 24h I would've gone for something in that genre.
-Even with little time you had you did well enough on player feedback, screen shake would have been another great addition though
-Finally, it was not entirely clear to me when you would bllock and when you wouldn't, it seems it happened when it hits the sword but I seemed to not be able to get any control over it.

Overall great game though, especially for just 24h, well done!

amazing game you brought on the table, hope it gets more known to others!

The art and music were really cute and the mechanics were really fun once i figured them out. i will say it felt less like i was controlling a sword and more like i was just throwing the guy around. Had a lot of fun with it especially in the later levels! I got to around 26, might go back and try to beat some more.

More people need to see this! It gets so crazy in later levels! Worth the download!

Art is cool and the music is pretty good too! The gameplay difficulty curve is very slow in my opinion, it didn't feel that challenging until level 15 onwards where the bullet hell aspect begins to really shine. Good game, but could become a little harder a little quicker.

This is really good! It's a shame you didn't have those extra 24 hours to work on it, feels like with a bit more content and a web app this could have been really popular. It's very polished, and although the concept is simple, it's a lot of fun, especially once you get to the later levels! Would love to see a more fleshed out version of this game. Seems like the start of a great roguelike, for example. Nice work!

It's very chaotic, but super fun and satisfying to play!!

It was really satisfying to dash into enemies that stood on a row! The mouse controls worked out quite well. Something that could be really nice if there was an ability on right mouse button, maybe a block or something. But it is a great game!

I only made it to wave 12, lol, but fun game nevertheless! it's so satisfying to just avoid all the rats' projectiles and just sweep through a big clump of them. The music and sound effects (don't forget the particles) really made the game feel fun and juicy to play. It just made me feel great in general :D.

(I kinda feel sorry for the guy just getting dragged around like crazy by his sentient sword!)

Developer

There'a more than just rats! Also, you can block projectiles with your blade (but not the guy).

Submitted

Oh, I knew there were more than just rats, but I didn't notice the blocking.

Wave 25! I really liked the control scheme, I think the whole game would also play really well on a phone as an app. Add in some progression unlocks and coins and you have a really nice mobile game going. Feels very polished and controls were so responsive and the mechanics put a smile on my face being so absurd rocketing around with my little sword smashing rats!

I love the idea behind the controls! It's very creative and a good take on the theme. I did feel like either the collision detection didn't feel quite accurate or the sword wasn't going exactly where I was aiming, so it felt a tad random at times, however, with that said I managed to get to wave 29 and loved the enemy variety and presentation!
Tiny bit of juice and I could see this being addictive as hell too.
Fantastic work :D

really nice controls, keep it up even after the game jam!

Controls feel great! Loved playing it and looks nice! Especially for 24 hours, this is quite impressive. Well done!

This is super fun. The controls feel very smooth and everything just feels very polished. It’s nice to see that we took a similar idea in our games and went in fairly different directions! Really nice job!

fun game, good sound design, and visually nice to look at

Really liked this game ! super silly, it was very frantic at the end which i really liked. Sometimes it felt like my attacks weren't connecting which was a little frustrating, but that's a minor thing. It became super difficult at the end which i liked, it curved out really well. Great entry !

while the game suffers from some hitbox problems, overall it was quite the fun playthrough, firstly the Idea is quite creative so well done, the visuals are nice and give a good vibe to the game, the sound department is quite good too, with just a little bit more of polish this game would have been a perfect experience! my only small complaint is that the game lacks a bit more feedback when stuff is hit and the like, but overall, a solid entry and I would totally play more of this in a more expanded form, great work!

cool game, i liked the idea, though its a bit hard to aim exactly, its pretty fun for a few minutes, but if you want to make it more enjoyable adding powerups, harder enemies, bigger arenas, diffrent swords and knights, you would have a killer mobile game that i'm sure would attract thousands, the idea is simple and perfect for a mobile release

Developer

Thanks! I already added a focus/time slow ability you can charge up by hitting bullets with your sword (a.k.a. the real protagonist) which will be available post-jam!
