This game was very fun to play! A cute game with smooth controls is all one needs hahah! Could have been even better with a banger soundtrack! Good job!
Novel idea, and I love that pseudo Atari-2600 look that you gave it! I found myself just spamming until I was down to like 3 zombies because only losing one zombie when dying wasn't too much of a loss. Maybe the death penalty needs to be a bit harsher?
Thank you! yes I have to flesh out the mechanics a bit more, It isn't balanced currently.
Very fun concept. Is there a moment in the game when I don't want to spawn zombies? I noticed myself spamming 'Z' all the time. Also, unfortunately I find the game very frustrating that you start from level 1 when you die. Other than that, i enjoyed playing this game. Good job.
EDIT: Oh I just read that the zombie bar is also my health bar. I didn't notice this while playing.
Rather simple yet fun concept! I really liked the art and the music does need a little more improvement but all in all, Well Done!
This is a really neat concept. I like how your lives are what you use to do damage. Gives some nice risk and reward. The art is cool, I like the small pixel art. The audio isn't bad, but the beeps can get annoying after awhile. Overall, cool game!
Thank you! Yeah, the audio part was more of an afterthought, did it in 5min because I wasn't sure if I wanted the game to be fully silent and was running out of time.
Interesting idea and I enjoyed it, I like the art and the fact the player is faster than a tank. I unintentionally gathered the max zombies on level 1 so everything was very easy, probably should reset the zombies on each level. Other wise it's very good. And congrats on making your first game.
There's a few ways I could make it harder to hoard zombies, maybe I could make the enemies stronger if you have too many for the level you're at, or something like that. So having many zombies could be a reward to good players, or something, idk, haha. Thanks for commenting! :)
Very interesting idea, playing as the zombie horde is actually very fun. Congratulations on the game, the mechanics are very fun!
Thanks!! :)
Cool idea and I like the simplistic pixelish artstyle too.
I saw someone here saying its your first game jam - congratz! Nice entry for the first time, and good luck in the future jams too :)
Thanks for commenting! I'm already preparing for the next jam, loved the experience
Great game!
It looks really cool and is fun to play! It would be nice to have an indicator of where the enemies will spawn at the beginning of the level bcs I kept bumping into them at the start!
Had a lot of fun! Thanks for the submission!
Great suggestion! Thank you for the nice comment!
The last level was super hard hahahah, but it was very enjoyable. Maybe having some way to level up the main zombie in between rounds would be cool :D I love that the zombie spawning resource is also the health!
Well done :)))
Thank you Gurki!
Cool idea, and cute graphics! Also, bonus because its made on TIC-80!
Thanks! TIC80 is cool :)
surprisingly hard for me! It was sometimes confusing which characters were allys vs enemies. Maybe more consistent colors would help (ie green is always ally, red baddy). A cool addition could also be controlling the zombies! maybe to make a defensive wall or focus on one enemy!
lots of places you could take this, which is great!
I think the difficulty is a bit random because sometimes you can get a lot of boxes quickly and sometimes you get screwed by the rng, haha. I was hoping the borders of the characters were enough to recognize what they were (white: player, black: ally and boxes, red: enemy units and bullets) but I'm sure I could figure out something to better distinguish them (since the sprites are so small, after all). Yeah, a lot of places I could go from this prototype, I'm not 100% sure how It'll end up being if I keep developing it.
Thanks a lot for your comment!
I like the different roles the enemies show. Some focus on getting resources, others focus on fighting you. The balance of getting resources to health or fight was also fun. One bug I noticed was that the green enemies would eventually stand on top of each other.
Thanks for your comment! Yep, the green enemies have that issue, will fix it after the jam!
great game, especially for your first gamejam. What it lacks in depth it makes up in cute graphics and the satisfaction to unleash dozens of enemies onto the humans. Love the fact that my resources are also my lives.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it
Very nicely done! It’s very satisfying to swarm the screen with a horde of zombies once you’ve saved up a few.
Thank you! I'll check out your game once I'm at home :)
is funny game, great jop.
Thanks guacho!
The art is simplistic and cute! It was really fun to play (could play for hours) - overall great concept!!
Thanks so much!
Played in Chrome browser and worked great, loved the colourful intro text! Gameplay was a little hard and ngl, I didn't always understand why I did or didn't die. Was fun, though I found it annoying that you couldn't level select as I struggled to get past lvl 3.
Good to know the game actually plays, haha.
Maybe I'll clear up the mechanics a bit better in the description. The zombie bar basically doubles for your healthbar, if the last one (the player zombie) dies, it's game over. So the player have to manage if they want more zombies on screen or to be able to survive some more hits.
Or if you are talking about the chaos onscreen then yeah, it is pretty hard to see what got you, lol.
(Or maybe it's just buggy, I couldn't playtest much)
Thank you for your comment!
really fun gameplay loop and a very creative concept. also, the art is nice.
Thank you! I appreciate it.
btw I noticed I had a more recent build of the game uploaded, so it is up now. (very small update).
Doesn't seem to start.
Works for me in Firefox and Brave Browser.
For Brave I had to disable the adblocker.
Thanks for the comment.
