Nice idea, fun gameplay and powerups.

Vai Brasil!

Simple but fun, good job.

Cool game! I like the main gimmick, the ships shooting in all sorts of uncontrollable directions made for a good challenge! Good job!

Developer

own, thanks!
One of the core aspects for this game was to not let the player control things too much

I like how this generally adds a lot of fun to a short, fast paced game

Oh, enemy ships attached to my ship shooting in all wrong directions made me laught! Amazing looking and working game, and in 48h category. You are mad lads :)

P.S. are you by any chance Aussies?

Developer

haha glad you had fun!

I'm actually brazilian! The "cool beans" part came from a GPT talk where I asked it how could I better translate "do caralho 👍" to english lol

:D I see :) Hope you had fun  making your game :) We had a lot of fun making ours :)

Salvos of laser bullets accompanied by loud SFX and frame drops are unexpectedly fitting XD

I genuinely think that it doesn't affect the fun I had with the game! This is such a good take on a similar concept to my game as well. So nice job~

Developer

haha thanks!

I guess we could say that the game was not optmized for scale lol (it was running way better on Godot I promise)

But I'm glad you had fun!

Developer

I'm glad you space liked it! 🪐

I love the concept!  My only note is that the game page says it's right-click to shoot, but for me, it was releasing left-click that caused my ship to shoot.  It would have felt better if it shot on mouse down instead of on mouse up.

Developer

HAHA I'm so sorry, I 'm so bad with left/right stuff
Got a friend of mine to playtest at the very last minute and he told me about the mistake, but it was already too late to fix it :(

this idea is actually super cool. holy sht. i saw the pieces together and i was like DAMN i aint know what im doin but its awesome

Developer

Haha thanks! Once the jam is over, I was thinking about adding a scoreboard for how many ships you had your crew

Your pfp is awesome btw

Being able to use enemies for one's own advantage is very creative, and I am also curious about how the code works. It's great!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks!
Not the most optimzed code in Earth, but it a little bit like that:

if enemy == bad: follow player
elif enemy == off: do nothing
elif enemy == good: keep same distance, angle, and relative angle in relation to player

GREAT concept, feels very wacky races to have frankenstien's monster piloting a frankenstien-themed ship. Good choice for the backing sound track, gives it a real kickass vibe. The controls felt a bit strange to me but I was able to get through it fine enough, love the chaotic feel of taping the ships together!

Developer(+1)

I'll be forever grateful for now knowing how wacky races is called outside my country

Thanks for the comments! I was really aiming for that vibe haha

Really good-looking game. I love the shaders in this one boss.

Developer

Thanks!
The boss is my fav part as well haha

Nice Game

Developer

thanks!

The controls are pretty unintuitive and the enemy laser ships seem a tad strong, but I liked your visuals

Developer

thanks! It took some work to get to these visuals!
