So cool! One sad thing is only the tiny gun can play notes :(
Thanks!! Yeah haha, in hindsight I wish we made the others do that too :')
I loved the giant gun!
Thanks!
Super creative with some great art as well. Managed to come up with something simple yet fun. Good job!
Thanks a lot!! Happy you found it fun :D
I don't like giving 5 stars across the board, but the team behind Scaleton has exceeded the expectations of a short-form game jam by every possible means through their clever use of level layouts, the theme of scaling guns up, and witty soundtrack that keeps you engaged just as much as the crisp visuals. If there was ever a game to headline a playlist of top games for this jam, it would be this one.
Wow. Thank you so much. Reading this literally brought tears to my eyes.
I'll make sure everyone in the team sees this comment! Really appreciate your kind words and encouraging feedback!
Cheers!
I played and rated it! I like the idea; the execution was solid, but I'm not sure it's great in practice. I started to get annoyed with going back and forth through the same screens on different paths because I couldn't fit in the normal ones anymore. Looks nice though, and it's well put together, great job!
Thanks! :) We appreciate the feedback.
yoo cool game but i got softlocked here
https://imgur.com/a/5ZDG7zf
Thank you!! If you still have the game open keep trying, you're not soft locked. :) (Sorry for making that part seem impossible, it's meant to be a puzzle)
oh ok
my bad then
just was not able to go up nor down so i thought i was softlocked
I don't wanna spoil the solution here in case other people read this, but one of those options isn't as impossible as it may seem at first!
You're definitely not the only person who got stuck there though, maybe we should have worked up to that puzzle more gradually, sorry for that!
oh MAN this game has some juice. I was initially worried that it was going to be a standard 'scaling platformer' but managing to fit in a whole metroidvania into the jam is a real feat. The level design at the start was a little confusing, but it really impressed me after seeing the first upgrade. My only real gripe is that only the first gun has the cute little tune! I wanna see more!! Fantastic work.
Thank you so much! Both for the kind words, and for the very valid feedback. In hindsight, I 100% agree. :)
There's so many cool things to talk about with this game, it's clear a lot of time and effort went into it. I really like the starter gun playing notes along with the soundtrack. The art is beautiful and watching that little guy carry around a massive gun is hilarious! And the way it effects your movement, opening up new areas but limiting your mobility as well, it's a really cool concept I don't think I've seen before in the metroidvania style game loop.
Amazing job!
Thank you so much! Super happy you enjoyed it and noticed all the small things we worked hard on. Really appreciate the kind words, cheers!
I wasn't expecting to see a whole ass metroidvania in the jam, but wow.
The concept, sound design, the art, the character design, the movement, it all feels so damn good.
Happy you liked it! Big thank you for the kind words. <3
Such a spectacular concept and an equally good execution of it. This game really harnesses the theme as a core game design element, which is a very smart choice and makes the theme ever-present throughout play. The art and sound feel professional and are a constant pleasure to the player, and I didn't see any bugs or glitches either! Fantastic job!
Woah! Thank you so much! Those are some of the kindest compliments we've received, really happy you enjoyed it and appreciate the encouraging positive feedback!! :D
Guns model and sfx are really amazing!
Thank you! :D
Suuuuuuper good animation and style!
Thanks a lot! Happy you liked my animation <3
It's really good
Hi, I really like the artstyle! The gameplay is somewhat tedious though, and it was pretty annoying that the blocks I destroyed werent saved (if i left a room and then came back they are back). Other than that great game!
Thanks, appreciate the feedback. :)
Wow that game is amazing, the concept is really simple but i'm really impressed with the level design. The art so good too... the juice with the bullets... and the final upgrade <3
Thank you so much! Very kind words <3
This one is really awesome
Thanks! Happy you liked it! :D
i really like this game
Thanks!
The visual style is awesome! The platformer controller is very nice and tight as well, alongside a really neat concept of a gun of scaling size. Well done!
thank you so much!
Well polished, gets fun the longer you play.
Thanks!! Happy you had fun! :D
The concept fit the theme quite well. The artists absolutely nailed it, I especially loved the explosion effects. The level design was alright, I just wish there was a bit more direction in where to go at the start, but once you get started with the first upgrade it picks up. The platforming also felt nice. Nice work!
Thank you!
We definitely in hindsight agree about the lack of direction at the start.
Thanks for the kind words, cheers! :D
I was sceptical at first but after playing for a little bit it got fun. Awesome game, and ending is super :D
Thanks a lot! Happy you had fun. :)
