nice game, the basic idea is sort of similar to ours but the outcome is quite different. I like how you focussed more the scaling theme. Maybe more different enemies would bring more variety to the game. Else, very well done!

Really cool! Felt like combat could be more interesting but other than that great game!

Very satisfying to play. Enjoyed myself.

The art is cute, the red and gold enemies look very majestic somehow. The music strikes a good balance between happy and energetic. The take on the theme is effective, and the leveling up is interesting enough that I didn't need any other reason to play the game for quite some time!

I read somewhere that you were thinking of releasing a post-jam version, so I thought I'd place my thoughts more articulately. Stuff that I think could use some polish: the character controller - as another comment mentioned, the jump gets pretty clunky especially the larger you grow. Since the combat mechanic is simplistic, having clean movement would make it fun. I found myself trying to hunt larger slimes specifically to get large level boosts, and a large part of that was to time jumps/dodges. I also think the spaces on the playable area where Slimer couldn't go once it leveled up a bit(because thicc) were a bit difficult to make out. If it could fit through some of the stuff that it looked like it could, that would be cooler (like a little forgiveness mechanic on the movement). And about the level up part - it wasn't very clear how much I was growing in each levels, so sometimes it felt unsatisfying.

Cheers!

This is Blue kirby! I love the game! Really fun game, one piece of feedback i have is that I wish i could control the jump height with how long I was pressing spacebar

Developer

Thank you for trying the game! Ahh yeah that does sound fun, we'll look into it :D

I was enjoying the game but then I got to level 8 too far bellow and got stuck, couldnt fit the gaps to move further up and ahead D: great game tho!!

This game was so cool! I usually don't like platformers since I'm not very good, but I enjoyed the scaling of enemies. It felt like I had the ability to pick my battles & come back to face opponents when I was ready. It's very fluid, but not too fast-paced, which I really appreciated as a non-gamer. Great game!

It was beautiful and fun.

Such clever execution on a basic concept! Good job.

Very fun! Loved the ending.

Super fun platformer game! I like the various QOL such as a growth meter. Being able to eat enemies larger than yourself is great and non-limiting, gives the player lots of options

Such a cute little slime! Really like the scaling aspect you've implemented, and the controls do feel super reactive and not sluggish at all which is great! Great little game :D

I liked the grow and shrink effect that the world experienced when Slimer got bigger and smaller. Was everything made in a single scene and/or always loaded in or was there some sort of scene switching “trickery” going on to get the sizes to work properly?

Really fun game! I really like the  art style too! Great work! 👍

Surprisingly fun! I like how far you took the concept and how responsive it feels, which is important when the player is given such a short window of time to land attacks on enemies before needing to get out of the way. Part of me wishes the enemies traveled further before turning around so that the player could land more hits and it wouldn't take so long to fight the larger enemies, but I guess this is more challenging.

I think particle effects could help with the feel a lot if you want to add more after the jam. Well done!

Developer

Thank you for playing the game and hank you for the particle effect suggestion! Will defenitely look into it.
